They actually get that a lot without an ex hurricane to be honest, but it is rather a nice way of describing in from the normally very dry wording of these things. Reminds me of

Phenomenon by LL cool j

Guess when it was released? October 14, 1997.

10 years to the day after the great storm !!! scratchchin

It's all getting rather spooky

Meanwhile, the quiet before the storm

Michael fish was on the BBC earlier... he said that there wouldn’t be a hurricane, just high winds and rain.. why wouldn’t you believe him..?

He also said that the systems 30 years ago had about the same computing power as an iPhone, nowadays there are thousands of stations, satellites and sensors predicting the weather.

He was right. It wasn't a hurricane 30 years ago and it isn't a hurricane today.

30 years ago it was a sting jet that caused the damage. Radar imagery shows a sting jet is highly likely today:

On the north side at St Ives Porthmeor beach it’s flat as a pancake

Looking out the window this morning, here in then Midlands, while waiting the weather forecast, totally calm and placid, not even a leaf stirring on the trees. Forecast says it is a yellow warning today though.

Just showing something about Emmetts National Park, that apparently had 97% of its trees blown down by the last big blow. Bloody hell! eekeekeek

I’ve been through some big blows on ships over the years, kinda scary, but as long as the captain knows what he is doing.....and the ship is big enough.....ours was 55 metres, no problem. Trying to sleep while rolling around the top bunk like a pea in a colander, is awkward.

My grandmothers house is surely going to take a battering, her house looks out over the Atlantic in County mayo. Although it appears to be coming from the south rather than the west. Would love to see the waves there today, it's violent enough at the best of times.

Well apparently my little town (north of galway city) is due to get "hit" at between 1 an 4 today, despite all the warning the neighbours either side of me have done nothing with their trampolines........so I'll probably end up with one in my garden before the day is out.

Pretty much everything is shut, leading to the festivities now being referred to as "Bank holiday Ophelia" hehe
