OK, so legal rights should be based on whatever someone imagines. Great idea! I killed my mum but I imagine that I didn't so that's OK. I didn't pay for my dinner at Chez Scoffs but I imagined that I did so that's OK.

What if someone rocks up at the border and says that he has an imaginary visa or an imaginary diplomatic passport? Wave him through?
That's the beauty of this system- everything we're allowing them to believe is in a different country & therefore subject to their laws. They don't come through our gates so what they think won't matter.

If you get a reservation for Chez Scoffs I can get your opinion on the minor details.

eta- If your mum or the restaurant believes it's a good or bad idea then that should be TIC. Especially the restaurant; if they're happy with your actions then groovy.

Is this some subtle reference to you coming out of the closet?

(I've been mostly straight since public school.)

I haven't heard Narnia used as a euphemism for unfettered sexuality before. I do however speak Polari/Parlare.

Completely off topic, I used to work with two gay chaps of a certain vintage who would regularly converse in Polari/Parlare. It's a fascinating cultural phenomenon.

I know 'lallies' is legs, so I was thinking it's leg associated.

Jule and Sand got away with talking utter filth on afternoon radio. It was fab!

Lally blappers may be incorrect usage. ISTR that blappers were titties, but my Polari is rusty.

Willets are tits, a little homework for the learned one.

Remembering this young man, it's hard to think of a reason not to do exactly what the MP suggests.

Vile indeed, but we are better than our enemies. Let's not become them.

Even though you were suggesting coming out of the closet?

I would come out of a closet if I was in one, but sadly I'm not. I am grateful for the thread drift towards Polari, not least because of the fabby link posted above by Tom Logan, but the reference to that Jordanian pilot reminds us why killing lots of IS people on battlefields was and is a cool idea. Things change once the battle is over.

Personally nothing I have seen on the news are on this thread has changed my mind
They should just be eliminated. Otherwise we are just shooting ourselves in the foot and storing up trouble for future years.

Yep, the ISIS leadership are all Saddams men and if you don't know who they are, ask any Iraqi refugee and they'll gladly tell you. What has having them stick around 15 years after removing Saddam gotten us?

Saddam was a dick, and his men were dicks, but they weren't Islamists. Deposing Saddam without a what next plan allowed Islamism to flourish in Iraq.

Be that as it may, it's his lot that are running Isis and working from his play book. This is well documented information.

I wouldn't be so sure that Isis are Islamist for the sake of islam.

Power and money. Like all religion.
