Are there not various benefits given to MPs who lose their seat in an election?

I’m not suggesting that this might have anything to do with it.
Nope - nothing to do with that whatsoever. We here in Hallam have been assured that is not the reason.
We've not been told the reason, but it's definitely not the £20k Loss of Office Payment.

Especially since he was seen out in Sheffield last night during the voting - https://mobile.twitter.com/dinosofos/status/116896...

And he was well known as one long before he stood for election in 2017.

I think this sad and depressing saga just goes to show how completely out of touch our MP's are.
Some of them do not seem accountable and simply see us as being plebs to be shat on

Looks like he plans to hang on to the bitter end so as to get a £13,500 "loss of office" payment.

That's another thing that needs to be stopped in any forthcoming programme of electoral reform.

The first honourable thing he has done since 2017 - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-south-yorksh...

By not standing for re-election, he forgoes any loss of office payment.

But no announcement or statement, he's just hoping to disappear into obscurity. I suspect his ego will take over in a few months, and he will be back in the club scene, and any notion of not being able to tolerate noisy environments will be long forgotten.

Has the deadline passed now? I'd hold your breath if not.

Good riddance - I hope that’s the last I’ll ever hear of him.
