It wasn't that she visited Israel.

It is that a Cabinet Minister 'secretly' visited a country outside the UK and held meetings with their government whilst telling her colleagues she was on holiday.

It can be any country, any at all - it doesn't matter. And then add in that off the back of this, she asked to give charitable donations to an army in that country.

The whole thing is just wrong.

Final update on nn: she still didn't tell may about all the meetings. Phone call tomorrow.
Rekon she is gone.

One knee trembler from Boris' past and I think Labour are going to pounce. Gov will fall and brexit is kicked far far down the road.

Mad times!
The worry is that the hardcore Brexiteers will see it the same way and allow MPs to get away with just about anything if it might save their Brexit.

Agreed.

Tin Foil hat on, does anyone think this is all deliberate by the Tories, so that Corbyn gets in just as the runaway Brexit train smashes through the station, thereby handing back the initiative to the Tories?

Media trying to run government.
Media trying to run Brexit,
Opposition sniping politics.

The UK has become very aggressive and polarised since the referendum.

This to me is a bit of a non-event as Priti seems to be a very devoted worker irrespective of which party or where her opinion is on Brexit.

But as per usual, the media and the opposition are going ballistic.

Its become the daily anti-Brexit-Government bashing show with both the tabloids and the TV news - to the point of comical.

I completely agree that its just plain wrong & Ms Patel is a fool.
As a footnote, the aid apparently was to be provided for the Israeli army to help wounded Syrians receive medical help: http://www.jpost.com/Israel-News/Israel-increases-...
IMO a good cause, but why couldn't she just go through the correct channels/protocols?????

Putting all the dodgy stuff to one side I will say 2 things

1. Its very good that an Asian woman who is a muslim got to meet a jewish PM. Its by doing those things that we break down barriers and remove the unnecessary stereotyping of people
2. She is quite attractive but doesn't score as much on the stonkometer as peoples comments about her would have made me think
Eh?

News emerging that she also forgot to mention she visited the Golan Heights, which the UK does not recognise as being Israeli territory. Is anyone this forgetful suitable of holding a cabinet position?

The Tories are a mess.

I won't mention that other top female Labour MP unless you know who starts posting pictures.
I imagine this is aimed at myself.

It's as if you would claim I just post pictures unnecessarily or something. I'm getting a bit fed up of being treated like an idiot. Politics is serious stuff what with the Tories being Evil and Labour being Fantastic. Politics is not a subject to be dumbed down.

You don't see any problem with a minister 'forgetting' to report meetings with foreign leaders, despite that being a clear breach of procedure? it wasn't as if she'd only done it on one occasion either.

This is a major fkup isn’t it? An election is inevitable at this rate and I can’t see the Tories winning it

Am I missing a whoosh parrot or something?

You think it's okay for a cabinet minister to hold secret meetings with a foreign power, then use her ministerial powers to send them free money?

She's covered in st from head to toe. Combined with Leadsom, Boris, Farron, Green and Mays overrall incompetence the Tory party are in complete havoc.

I still can't figure out why she took this risk, what was in it for her? Yes she is a long termer in the Friends Of Israel Tory group, but must be more than that.

Her register of interests doesn't show anything that appears Jewish linked https://www.theyworkforyou.com/regmem/?p=24778

This news in that link of the Israeli's wanting UK aid to them being diverted to Africa, and Priti's dashing off to Africa despite what is happening don't look a coincidence. Any loose ends she was hoping to tie off?
