No one in the government... shortage of talent claptrap.
In looking to the future Mrs May should look to the recent past and utilise the talents of her DUP partners. It was only a few short years ago Mr Cameron embraced and utilised the talents of the Lib Dems and gave them positions.

I suggest she appoints Arlene Foster to this roll. What could possibly go wrong

The DUP are good and bluffing and blustering their way about. Might be useful attributes at the moment.

She'll get a dressing-down and removed from her post, the intention being that she'll remain an MP and will come back into another cabinet post in a year or too when the dust has settled. There will be no election and nothing will really change.

Still, it gives the press a nice new target now they have backed off all the sexual harassment headlines following yesterdays suicide.

You don't see any problem with a minister 'forgetting' to report meetings with foreign leaders, despite that being a clear breach of procedure? it wasn't as if she'd only done it on one occasion either.
Problem yes BUT....she has apologised and the world can move on.

Am I missing a whoosh parrot or something?

You think it's okay for a cabinet minister to hold secret meetings with a foreign power, then use her ministerial powers to send them free money?

She's covered in st from head to toe. Combined with Leadsom, Boris, Farron, Green and Mays overrall incompetence the Tory party are in complete havoc.
Maybe you are just caught up in the media furore ?

I don't think its ok. But should she resign, no.
Did Blair resign for taking the UK in to an illegal war that cost the lives of 100's?
I think a sense of scale by removing the media hysteria may be in order.

The PM has to sack her, you can’t secretly negotiate with foreign governments, this is Politics 101
Unfortunately it now seems like No.10 were actually aware of some of these meetings but didn’t do anything about it..
Oh well 3 hrs until she lands at Heathrow

This is just bks, I'm a Tory voter but the last few months, including the election, just seem an enormous omnishambles.

Corbo must be rubbing his hands together, he will see his support go up purely due to incompetence in government.

She's got to be sacked because she's been sneaking about on a grand scale without the authority of her ministerial department.

'Family holiday' my arse.

She's either naive, stupid, staggeringly arrogant or a combo of all three.

What was she 'negotiating' ?

If any of it is in the UK national interest then thats a good thing IMO.

Opposition support always increases whilst they're in opposition, they've nothing to lose.

Still think Patel will lose her post as the PM needs to be seen to stamp her authority, all whilst avoiding any internal backlash that will lead to a leadership challenge.

I humbly suggest that you get a grip and stop the apologism.

This is as clear an example as you could expect to see of a bent politician. If May wasn't already in an extraordinarily weak position Patel would be gone already.

Stating that an apology is acceptable for going off on her own sniffing out some Israeli kickbacks with some tory donor/lobbyist is laughable.

The intention may be good, but ministers can't just go off and hold negotiations with whoever they like and not bother to inform their department or PM.

I won't mention that other top female Labour MP unless you know who starts posting pictures.
I imagine this is aimed at myself.

It's as if you would claim I just post pictures unnecessarily or something. I'm getting a bit fed up of being treated like an idiot. Politics is serious stuff what with the Tories being Evil and Labour being Fantastic. Politics is not a subject to be dumbed down.

They do seem to suspend an awful lot of people for various things and yet it rarely seems to feature as a favoured option when they suggest what action parties should take.

Perhaps Ken Livingstone should setup a safe space for them all, he seems to have the experience here.

You need a holiday.

How about a trip to London to see the latest attraction? https://www.theguardian.com/politics/gallery/2017/...

Indeed; the current government has the whiff of the last few months of the John Major era.

It's worse. They had scandal all around and were beset by infighting, but at least they were governing competently.
