You don’t think that those that bought the tickets (donations) wouldn’t be happy to let them be still gift the money given the circumstances?
We don’t know the circumstances.

Some are lifetime savings some are a special inheritance to be used for something unique special - not everyone is a powerfully built PH director.

Small numbers hundreds of pounds side but £80-200k isn’t the same is it.

Take the Henley auctions they hold up say special rare leather jackets or race days at Williams then let the bidding happen you pay the money then hey say hey sorry we’re not giving you what the bidding was for after all

I’d assume if you can drop £80k for a couple of hours entertainment in the name of charity - you happy to do so.
Into based on a man turning up or not ffs
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/2FnGHGykNznQ4NgkLP0Tx58/peter-kay-live-in-blackpool-for-children-in-need-auction-closed-total-raised-633-225

Errr no.
Some who bid use their lifetime savings or a one off inheritance they are not wealthy people who can drop a £80k and meh to the outcome.

An auction is an auction charity or otherwise. These prizes are also unique - heck imagine if the super 7 those priceless Ferrari’s which you bid for and won to drive around for a very long weekend stay at amazing places thrash a la Ferrari round a race track drive up the goodwood festival of speed hill etc only to be told oh it’s cancelled never mind thank you for the £200k per person bid you made
??? What the hell are you on, Welsh?
The children in need charity auction Nov17 Peter Kay raised £650k odd for a special show he would be delivering for those lucky winners and bidders in Jul 2018.

I’m asking what happens - no event = no donation charity loses out. Would he let a minor issue keep him out of action or will Chris Evans organise a suitable equivalent event.

Is it that difficult to understand? Bid for something not going to get it want an update...
The principle is not difficult to understand! However, Welshbeef, I guess you were pissed when you wrote the original gibberish, in future keep it short, keep it on subject; you must have heard of the KISS principle?

Put it this way would you give up that 911 Targa to charity if you’d bid it but in exchange for running a 250 GTO for a long weekend including running it up the FOS Hill at goodwood. But then find out hey the car needs to be handed over but you get nothing and no explaination.

Clause 5.6 of http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/4G4FtMPRz..., which is linked from the page you posted (with my bolding).

"5.6 The BBC shall have the right to substitute Items of a similar description and standard, if for any reason the relevant Items are not available or for any other substantial reason. In the event of such substitution before the close of the Auction, a bidder may withdraw a bid by notice to the BBC, such notice to be received before the close of bidding. In the event of a substitution after the close of the Auction the winning bidder shall have the right to decline the substitution within seven days and, where applicable, the right to a refund of monies paid. In the event that that the winning bidder does not accept the substitution the Item will be offered to the next highest bidder."

What on Earth were you drinking to keep this brain fart alive?

Zero sense in what you are saying.
Probably best to ignore him.

He consistently gets pissed up and posts gibberish incoherent nonsense. Then, when the hangover takes hold the next morning, he moves into argumentative mode to try to back up the gibberish nonsense.

Welsh, do yourself a favour and go back to bed!

Scchmuk has answered it read his post.

It’s pretty obvious what is being asked, it’s a bit odd you don’t get it yet scchmuk does - superior IQ possibly?

I would note, Welshbeef, that these T&Cs were available in the same location at the time you made your first post last night.

Well, that is twice in as many years that Welshy has written a post about a Porsche that I've immediately thought - "That's total bks"

Even if you don't know - common sense tells you - the T&C's will protect both the charity and the bidder.

Exactly that’s my point - some posters seemed to think hey it’s charity doesn’t matter if the charity auction gives you nothing is with a situation like this regardless of the massive sums involved simply suck it up.

What on Earth are you on about ?

Are you the poster who flagged up he might be dead due to noise on Twitter?

If you read this thread back from your first post last night you will realise that it’s obvious what I and others are ‘going on about’ and that no, I’m not the Twitter flagger.

Sounds like the gibberish is now affecting your reading ability.

They don't do it to get the thing they're buying. They do it to get the verbal blow job from Chris Evans in front of 2m listeners, and the excitement of boasting about it to their friends.

Whatever they've actually bought is practically immaterial.

And they DO ACTUALLY buy something wink
