Nasty crash in B’Ham
Discussion
Elements earlier in this topic and posters already posting comments tipping towards racial profiling on the other Birmingham crash topic.
No one seems to post up the numerous car crash deaths (2+) on PH unless there's a racial element.
There seems to be a narrative if it's Birmingham as the location.

I can't see where posters today are 'tipping towards racial profiling'No one seems to post up the numerous car crash deaths (2+) on PH unless there's a racial element.

Are you over-reacting (or have a particular agenda) ?

I live in Birmingham city centre and I don't think it's racist at all to point out that the vast majority of lunatic driving I see is done by young Pakistani men in prestige and often very fast prestige cars.
Frankly, some of it is just ridiculously dangerous.
Ooh you racist for pointing out some facts!Frankly, some of it is just ridiculously dangerous.

You only live there so what do you know about it? Listen to the experts who live hundreds of miles away.Frankly, some of it is just ridiculously dangerous.
I wouldn't have the audacity to say what life was like in London as I have no experience of it. From the few times I've been there it was fantastic, I didn't see any crime, wasn't mugged by a scooter gang, the traffic was minimal and the tube ran like clockwork. Easiest city in the country to live in.
I accept that it might not be as rosey as a resident.

I see the Police are appealing for the driver of the Audi to come forward.
Surely they should know who the owner and insured drivers are ?
Oh yes silly me - no doubt uninsured, untaxed and on cloned plates so they haven't got a clue.
Well the they have someone in custody now which is good. Surely they should know who the owner and insured drivers are ?

I have to drive into Oldham and Blackburn regularly and, as sure as eggs is eggs, i will encounter quite a few people driving like knobheads who are asian. However I also drive into Salford. Longsight, Moss Side, and several other areas where i also encounter knobbish driving but from different ethnicities. Coincidentally those areas are populated mainly by people from other ethnicities. It's not at all racist to suggest that a lot of young asians drive like knobs, and personally I would pay extra CT to fund more ANPR units However it IS stupid to suggest that it's only or mainly young asians that drive like knobs.
Take a look at the "st Driving caught by dashcam" thread - it's not just "pimped up" S3s and C63s driving like knobs.

One of my mates is a chippy. He grew up in Bloxwich and has worked in and around Brum for decades. He reckons the (already poor and random) driving in the city has got markedly worse in the last few years. He does not think it is just down to one ethnic group, but also has much to do with people emigrating to the UK from places that were either not urbanised and without motorways and dual carriageways, or were otherwise just chaotic. Analogous to putting complete driving novices onto a live race circuit where racers are testing.Frankly, some of it is just ridiculously dangerous.
Not related to these crashes, but I would agree with the above.
The marked drop in driving standards, particularly lane discipline, can only be through drivers using the roads without any real instruction or care about the subject.
I doubt that they have all just "forgotten" what was in the HC,which I assume most people read cover to cover whilst learning?

I find there is a large cohort of completely oblivious drivers - completely transfixed on the car immediately ahead, they have no idea what is going on around them. The marked drop in driving standards, particularly lane discipline, can only be through drivers using the roads without any real instruction or care about the subject.

How is it that these stories always seem to involve cars with small children in them late at night.https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-birmingham-4...

Is it that the small children are a massive distraction to the driver?
Or just that the fact that small children are involved, is what gets the story in the headlines.

Veiled racism by the Beeb
Where on earth do you get that from in the story with the Golf in it above?Veiled racism by the Beeb
There's no mention of racing or speeding, just a crash involving a couple of kids, and a couple of adults, yet somehow, in your head it veiled racism because the Birmingham region of the BBC reports a crash that's in Birmingham.
