Obviously by the markings a vehicle has crossed the carriageway. The Audi has massive rear end damage so my bet it is: massive speed, unsighted over crest curve, slower traffic in front, ran of talent, crossed the central reservation, went in backwards to the Taxi & Silver car.

I put money on the Audi being:

Stolen
Drugs related
Illegal activity
Dangerous driving involved prior
Massive speed prior
No Seatbelts
Uninsured
Trackys

Tick all or some of the above

RIP to the innocents
You missed out training shoes.

My betting is the leon and s3 where racing, maybe joined by the white e class? S3 has understerred coming round the corner, the leon has hit the S3, punted it across the road into the path of the Yaris and the taxi? People have flown out of the S3 as the sides been ripped open.

Zafira has then hit the leon after it’s stopped in the road.

Focus and the van just happen to be there?

Awful situation, but not surprising given some of the terrible driving in Birmingham in fast hatches, loads of it on YouTube of a blue and a red golF R racing though rush hour traffic, with the drivers laughing,

I wonder if the non wearing of seatbelts of those ejected from the S3, was due to the occupants wanting to make a quick getaway if caught in the stolen ride?

Just a thought that crossed my mind. No evidence to prove it was stolen.
I think if the S3 was stolen we’d know about it by now. More likely that it’s a case of a certain demographic just not bothering with seat belts. I see it everyday.

Well it doesn't take a genius to work out 4up in a Audi S3 on a dual carriageway were likely the cause. Here's an example but a simple search for birmingham street racing brings up plenty of examples.

Was there a bike that just cleared off at the start? Probably commuting home and didn't even realise there were people racing behind him!

I don’t buy that the Seat was racing/involved, if it was then how did it suddenly stop in time to get mildly rear ended by the Zafira?
I will agree there might well be more to it in regards to other vehicles involved but CCTV will sort that out, and if there was then whoever was in a car that left/contributed to this should be hung drawn and quartered.
Interesting to see no one has directly addressed the massive elephant in the room on this subject. Keep your mouths shut, or cards will be pulled. Happy to be proved wrong in the outcome but sadly I expect the obvious, followed by a variety of hashtags.
Audi S3...............a quite literal “weapon of choice”.

I am hoping that this is a tragic accident and not due to any boy racers.
What difference will that make?

Irrespective of any other details, would some Armco have made a difference? I think so.
Shouldn't every section of dual carriageway with a narrow central reservation have some sort of physical barrier to prevent traffic straying onto the opposite carriageway?

<shrug> It's a 40 limit. What about all those 60 limit single carriageways? And what about all those people who manage to fall off the edge of the road?

I haven't seen too many of those make the news in the way this has. It may not have saved the 3 in the Audi, but it might have saved the 3 in the taxi.

Usual 'innit pricks' trying to drive well beyond their capabilities....fine until the usual inevitable catastrophe happens and an innocent party is taken out. Regular occurrence and increasingly common evening sight(or sound....I am listening to usual local knobber in my area atm) in any UK city/town with inadequate plod and Traf Pol cutbacks.

Illegal chavplate nicely sums up the 'fk the law' attitude of these wastes of skin.

I'm certainly no expert but I'd say the chances of that are roughly 0%.

Personally the death of a loved one would be easier to take if it wasn't caused by someone doing something stupid. Sudden loss of control on black ice would be easier to understand than missjudging the racing line.

It needs Armco just as the access off the M6 into central Birmingham needs Armco

Taxi driver was 32-years-old and had six children. It’s his 3-year-old daughters birthday tomorrow.

Was chatting earlier to a mate in Brum, who lives not too far from the crash scene. Local chatter is "they were racing".

If you don’t think it makes a difference then why is that?
