Some people get paid more than you, love. Get over it.
I see the infants are back in PH again.

Do you really think it's ok to pay someone less because they are a woman, or they're black, or they're gay?

No, sweetie, I don't. I believe in paying someone their commercial value.

Yes. Its OK to offer to pay someone nothing, something, anything, a lot or anywhere in between for any reason whatsoever.

Its entirely up to the individual to accept that offer or not. Or seem remuneration elsewhere from another employer who recognises their talents and offers a pay packet acceptable to the individual.

I have entirely that situation every few months when I do the work offer thing. I can be discriminated against in any number of ways...all of which are absolutely irrelevant to me except whether I wish to accept whatever offer is put in front of my face or choose something else.

Have a re-read of what you've said. That is what bigots defend themselves with.

Thankfully the world is moving away from this neanderthal thinking. You'll be left behind.

yes It's basically an argument for people to accept prejudice. i.e racism, sexism, homophobia etc is OK, just put up with it or go somewhere else. Naïve too, considering how much of it is still prevalent in the world.

No it isn’t. You think ideology or “ism/ist “ stuff is important - I simply don’t care. It won’t pay the mortgage to give a fk about it. I am nothing more or less than a we and there is a reason than whoring is the oldest game in town. All monetary exchange for working is whoring, the only question is how much you can extract from a punter in an allotted timeframe or if another punter is more lucrative.

The world hasn’t changed from that viewpoint in the last 10,000 yrs. It sure as hell isnt going to change anytime soon. Colour and gender are irrelevant to the above.

Jordan Peterson debate on the gender pay gap.

I find this guy really talks some sense. The interviewer is no doubt one of them sort of people who criticize and ridicule science and fact deniers but is sat there doing exactly that.

I wasn't sure after the first 4mins or so, but then got drawn into listening.

Interesting discussion. Interviewer was significantly outclassed and probably helped his stature. But a very good watch smile

Men are generally better at their jobs than women, and naturally give a sense of authority and professionalism, so it's perfectly reasonable they earn far more than women.

I don't agree with this.

What I do think is that generally men tend to gravitate towards engineering, perhaps more mentally/physically straining jobs, working away from home, are more prepared to sacrifice their family life for work etc. Men are also generally more aggressive in negotiations (IE agreeing a salary).
Hence why they TEND to earn more. I seriously doubt two equally qualified people, one male and one female, would be offered significantly different salaries.

EG the Easyjet thing mentioned, how many female pilots are there? Where as how many male cabin crew are there?

That guy is an intellectual giant.

He explains his point and then her retort is "so what you are saying is" (which in no case was not was he said).

She was completely out of her depth and made herslef look a complete fool

I quite enjoyed Ms Newman getting her comeuppance, an amateurish display by her. She needs to rein in the flaunting of her quite radical feminist bias, something she revelled in of late. This display is not what I would expect of a senior prime time news journalist.

Jordan Peterson is certainly an interesting character, i might give some of his work a look. I suppose in that respect, I should thank Ms Newman.

The woman doing the interview is just about as insufferable as anyone else doing interviews with him in the mainstream media. His interviews serve to highlight how far from reality things have gotten and the lack of critical analysis.

The problem is that the sheeples see the likes of Newman as preaching the gospel.

I liked the way he listened and considered. A good object lesson in discourse.

When people do that in a discussion - most of the time it’s a way of them saying:

“That does fit with my pre-conceived narrative or agenda, what I wanted/expected you to say is”

It simply highlights their own prejudices and bias.

Agreed. The "bias filter' can make the listener totally unable to hear what's actually being said - prejudice really makes people deaf and blind to the facts.
