Arabs haven't lived in harmony with themselves - fk all to do with religion - it's tribal - and will always be so.

Most sanitary adverts now show blue water and how the unit either fits or is absorbent.
The advertising rules on showing genitalia probably stop the actual tampon being inserted shown.
Ask the ladies in your house things they would expect to see in a shampoo advert ?
If any dare say hair that would suggest they are;
Racist / islamaphobic
Yet more conflation. The advertising rules on showing genitalia probably stop the actual tampon being inserted shown.

You're avoiding the question I've put to you twice. What's your motive for starting this thread? Do you identify yourself as racist and/or islamaphobic?

Given her race and religion aren't mentioned in his post I'd assume it's the same reason as everyone else covered it - because it was an advert for hair products where they broke with convention and the model didn't have any hair on show. You're avoiding the question I've put to you twice. What's your motivation for getting so wound up about it?

To be fair her rants seem to be about the State as opposed to Jew's.
The way antisemitism is defined has been changed in recent years and now, among other things, over-sweeping condemnation of Israel is classed as antisemitism.https://www.theguardian.com/society/2016/dec/12/an...
I don't agree with what she's said and think much of it is factually incorrect but she should still have the right to say it without worrying about losing a job, being accused of racism etc.

They've thrust her forward, proudly showing off how "progressive" they are.
Now, because of some barely controversial tweets from years ago, they've tossed her like yesterday's jam.
Somebody called it earlier, transparent tokenism. They couldn't give the slightest st about muslims. fking hypocrites.

I didn't realise you needed to be Offended, bothered or need a motive to post about a news story / topic.
It was one that I thought was faintly ridiculous, others may or may not agree and may or may not be interested in. I would have said the same about anybody not showing their hair whilst advertising hair products. The lady in question is very attractive and could quite easily advertise all manner of beauty products but i think it ridiculous that she is advertising a hair related one.
There was a thread started yesterday about a man who kept a £25k watch that he received in error. I doubt the poster was in anyway offended or bothered by it, I would assume he thought it an interesting story that others might like to see / read. Did he have any motive or was it just a quirky / interesting news article ?
In response to Countdown's question re a good Muslims woman, - one that followers her religious texts and scriptures.
I am off for coffee and will respond to your other question later.

Re a good muslim, so you'd discount the drug taking, drinking terrorists and the child rapists as not being Muslims?

Now, that is an incredibly interesting question.A barista who always gets your order wrong is still a barista, just a st one.
Surely the only definition that counts is whether or not the individual considers themselves to be Muslim.

Without wishing to sound rude that would be exceptionally stupid. The religious texts are open to numerous different interpretations, resulting in different sects having different definitions of what is "good" and what is "bad". So, could you clarify which particular branch of Islam you're holding her accountable against?amusingduck said:

If they've employed a backwards bigot (not saying she is, but all that anti-Israel hate speech is hardly well thought out progressive speech! Someone saying the same about Palestine would be labeled a bigot by the righteous on here and elsewhere), then its in their interests to protect their brand!
And its not about "giving a st about muslims" - if the muslims that they represent turn out to be racist themselves, then what should they do?
I'm not a woman, but its hardly beyond the scope of reason that Mrs. Jo Bloggs is generally happy to buy products from a company that advertises with muslims, but would not be happy if she found out that said muslim was extremely anti-Israel.
So her views are basically damaging to the brand and might put off people from the majority market (i.e. trend-aware white professional women)

That isn't what actually happened. I don't see anything wrong with her comments. We are allowed to hold anti-Israel opinions, aren't we?

In reality, it sounds like they're trying to reach a new market... how evil of these businesses... trying to make a quid and not thinking of the constipated angry old bds who'll lose their st at the mere mention of the M word.

She's repeatedly tweeted about her dislike for Israel, which clearly carries with it some extra baggage. They are not well thought out words. That isn't what actually happened. I don't see anything wrong with her comments. We are allowed to hold anti-Israel opinions, aren't we?
And we are allowed to hold anti-Israel opinions, but L'oreal are also allowed to protect their brand against being polluted by possible anti-Semites. You can argue the wording all you want, but she's still venturing into dangerous territory.
Likewise, if she was being excessively and publically pro-Britain First, or pro-Hamas or whoever, it would probably cause her employers to think twice about her contract and whether or not she's bringing the company into disrepute.
And for the record, I know LOTS of people who would stop buying a companies products if their 'brand ambassadors' were publically anti-Israel and nothing was done about it. Now for you that might be ridiculous, but for a company in search of profits, its not such a laughing matter!

Sums it up perfectly. AIUI Amena whatshername has quite a following on Instagram/YT. L'Oreal were using her for the same reason they use Cheryl Cole.Gassing Station | News, Politics & Economics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
