At the risk of repeating myself, what chaos in the world has been created?
Have you not heard about the May meeting?
Sounds the opposite of chaos to me.
It’s interesting how when the then Senator Obama said he would consider discussions with nations such as North Korea, Fox ‘news’ attacked him for that like he was a nutter.Have you not heard about the May meeting?

Now that Trump is doing it, they are touting it as a huge victory for him.
As to the idea itself of Trump meeting with his NK equivalent, I think it is a matter for genuine concern. They are both unbalanced, irrational people, in Trump’s case at least, with significant mental health issues.
I am not against dialogue per se, but I think this is something that needs to involve grown-ups. Trump is about the worst person imaginable to be doing something like this.
So I’m rather nervous about it, especially on the back of the appointment of the fearsomely war happy John Bolton.

In a way Paul it makes some sense - fundamentally engaging in an unconventional war unconventionally, in contrast to the way we have conventionally engaged with the unconventional Putin. Now that Trump is doing it, they are touting it as a huge victory for him.

Hiring Bolton, despite the 'tache, is a hawk on his shoulder during discussion.
I'm more inclined to think that KJU will poison Trump and Trump will draw out his .44 and pop a cap in his arse than much good will come out of it, except spin for the domestic market of course.

As to the May meeting as others have mentioned let's wait and see, you never know, something good might come out of it.
But that wouldn't stop blind hatred would it.
I suspect if somehow a meeting between Trump and the Kimster results in a better, more stable situation in the region, Trump will get the credit he deserves, if it was partly down to his efforts. But that wouldn't stop blind hatred would it.
He would still have to deal with the monumental amount of built up fkwittery he has to answer for though, that won’t just go away.
I think it would be good for his defenders to remember that it’s not some sort of personal vendetta against Trump that drives the colossal amount of negative discussion here and elsewhere about him. It’s the things he does and the things he says.

With all due respect and I don't mean this nastily, but don't you think you're coming across a bit wet?Now that Trump is doing it, they are touting it as a huge victory for him.

But the world does go beyond me, and St Kitts. And yes, I find the appointment of John Bolton by a president who appears unbalanced, afraid and perhaps liable to lash out, troublesome.

as someone that has been mildly amused as a result of trump becoming the leader of the "free world" or whatever other nonsense title the americans like to bestow upon their presidents and the angst it has caused in a certain quarter (i would call them illiberals ), i have to say the appointment of bolton is a bit of a concern.Right guys. STOP
Seriously, I'm getting pretty sick and tired of wasting my time reading trolling and childish posts.
So I'll be polite and will post this only ONCE. Any further trolling, without evidence [and for the record I don't count "It was on Fox, so it must be true" as evidence] will result in ban. SImple as that. I want to enjoy reading this thread and the supporting links the folk post.
Those of you who have been around a while will know I do mean it.
So, one and only warning. Any crap or drivel and you're out. Simple.
Right, back on topic please.

I'm not sure what will count as a positive result from the NK talks, but if Trump manages to use the opportunity to move the NK regime in the right direction, yes, he will deserve credit.Picking a fight with China - NK's economic sponsor - before such talks seems untimely, though.
Time will tell.

Me and others have been through this with you many times and whenever we post a link or opinion it's "wouldn't trust that" or descends into childish goading/name calling.
I've posted my opinions quite a few times have you amnesia?
I'm happy it's a change from the norm,I respect democracy,I'd love to see tariffs against the EU,It's the first time a president has a meeting scheduled with NK ever,I don't disagree with a wall, and best of all it's had an effect similar to Brexit where whiny liberals are up in arms sobbing because they haven't got their own way.
I've no complaints whatsoever.
He's not getting a wall though, thats not in the bill congress are trying to pass, which is why he's saying he won't sign it. A complete waste of money when other infrastructure projects are still crying out for investment. Flint for example, 3 years on and still no resolutionI've posted my opinions quite a few times have you amnesia?

He did say earlier "I am considering a VETO of the Omnibus Spending Bill based on the fact ........ and the BORDER WALL, which is desperately needed for our National Defense, is not fully funded."
But Donald deary, have you forgotten that the Mexicans will be paying for the wall? Not congress!
