I dare say if Trump runs again then he will have a much harder time beating a boring old white guy.
I would absolutely not discount the Dems going into the next election with similar arrogance, especially given how unpopular they'll perceive Trump to be. Trump vs Oprah would be quite something
The ratings would go through the roof. It would be pretty funny to watch them go at it.

Is Trump running again?

That wouldn't be the biggest shock. Way too many people are so focused on their own side and being right they don't listen to the other side, and realise just how popular they can be. I think Trump getting a second term basically depends on when the next big recession hits. We're due one pretty soon. If it doesn't arrive before the next election and the economy is still going great then it doesn't matter what Trump says, enough people will be happy to vote him in again. If it hits before then when people struggle economically the leader in power will be blamed - if it's Trump then he'll then go at the next election.

As somebody with an interest but nothing partisan, it looks weird when so many people are saying with reason how appalling Trump is but the Dem's best failed to beat him and there's no sign of anyone about to storm the next election. Who will beat Trump for the Dems? Just asking, given how transparently disastrous he is it must be a cake walk for somebody.
I've no idea. Quite possibly there won't be anyone.

After all, reading the media and the loudest voices on PH it was a walk-over for HC.
I don't think anyone was more surprised and horrified than Trump himself when that turned out not to be the case, so I think folks can be forgiven if some of them were similarly taken aback.

As a general point you might perhaps try not to fall into the rather obvious trap of assuming than people who dislike Trump are raving Hillary fans. It's obtuse.

They've done it before - they boycotted it for 3 years under Dubya.

"

Amid public outrage over President Donald Trump’s “zero tolerance” immigration policy, a poll from Gallup released on Monday found that the president’s job approval rating has climbed back to his personal best in a Gallup poll: Forty-five percent, the same figure as his first week in office.

The poll was administered last week, fresh off Trump’s historic summit with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. Gallup was quick to note that Trump’s rating is high for his presidency, but lower than the historical average of 53 percent for all presidents since the organization started polling in 1945.

HuffPost Pollster, which combines recent opinion polls including CNN, Rasmussen and Gallup, found that Trump’s approval rating was at 43 percent."

he problem is that I don't really see where any genuine challenging comes from. The media are shrugged off as fake news, it isn't like he has to face the dems in any kind of prime minister question time, so he picks the interviews that he considers "meaningful" as he wishes. he just says stuff in an assertive manner as if fact and basically gets away unchallenged because anyone that thinks otherwise are haters and not credible (in his view) and he gets in a strop and dismisses them. Who can actually take him to task?
This is what amazes me. 10 minutes with any competent interviewer would have him tied in knots. Actually 10 minutes with a reasonably well informed child would leave him tied in knots.

Even the interview he did with tame Fox people was a car crash.

It is astonishing that he is getting away with it. I guess the constant stream of ste is so hard to keep up with that people have given up trying. Which as per the post about Germany in the 30s is a bit of a concern.

He named his book "A Higher Loyalty". All of his sanctimonious TV appearances. Now no-one has a good word to say about him.

He's ripped to shreds in the IG report.
Who is ‘no one’ who didn’t have anything good to say about him?

‘A higher loyalty’ means he is loyal to America, not Trump. It’s a fk you to him.

He has been praised throughout his career. Suddenly when Trump takes over his name is mud to his brain dead supporters. Curious.

All he was interested in was appearing loyal to the FBI and America. His name is mud because he made so many bad decisions, didn't follow FBI protocols and was insubordinate.

Do some research, you will be better informed and more able to make a useful contribution, rather than throwing insults around.
His name is mud to Trump supporters. That means he is almost certainly a good person.

Trump himself said he fired him because he wouldn’t drop the Russia investigation!

I do love the way F12 'I'm just an observer' and creyft 'just reporting the facts' have gradually dropped the pretence and just come out full Trump.

Did you both buy those red (made in china) MAGA caps?

I just continue to report the facts.

I might throw in the odd pearl of wisdom now and again.

I'm genuinely interested in why you think I've come out "full Trump".
Coyft you keep saying you’re providing balance and not supporting trump but you are actually supporting trump but for some reason don’t want to admit it.

Millions of people support trump, what’s the problem with supporting him?

I don’t support trump but this thread has become a bit of an echo chamber it’s great to actually have some well balanced trump supporters on it.

The problem was that lots of the previous trump fans were a bit nuts and kept getting banned for their posts. As you can see from above, they keep coming back under different names though,

How am I supporting him? Please enlighten me!

I find him highly entertaining and am enjoying the way he's mixing things up and short circuiting the traditional diplomatic ways of doing things. Perhaps that is supporting him.

You’re supporting him by posting good things he does and disagreeing with people posting negative things about him.

It’s pretty much what supporting someone is. hehe
