The U.S. government spent months developing the family-separation system, but authorities were struggling on Thursday to figure out how to reunite detained parents with children. There was no system for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which handled the parents’ cases, to work on the issue with the refugee resettlement office, which is responsible for the children.

Only in the past few days have officials started assigning a shared ID number to all family members, the advocates said.
Sounds like the sort of typical clusterfk our government makes when it outsources services to the likes of Capita.

Would they want him?

A Capita project manager who doesn't understand Agile development - I'm sure they'd jump at the chance!

What would the reaction be if the staff have "voted" for not serving some other people they decided they did not like ?
That’s what they are entitled to do, provided hey are not breaking a law in doing so (which they weren’t here).

Sarah Sanders made her bed. Now she gets to lie in it. Boo hoo.

Don’t see where the “whataboutism” takes anyone here.
The thing is that she got a free meal! They had eaten dessert and were asked to leave without paying. The restaurant fed her, but wouldn’t take her money.

She has probably eaten a fair amount of phlegm by that point though.

No, Austria. He wants to move to Austria. He wouldn't like it here at all.

He’d probably get on well with Pauline Hanson....

Amusing how some of our more vocal right wingers are all over the Abbott and Corbyn threads ripping the piss out of them (rightly) for their idiocies yet they seem to be a bit precious when Trump's many idiocies are pointed out.

Wonder why that is? confused

I would recommend flying to Indonesia and then jumping on a boat

It is more peoples definition of what represents a "Trump Supporter" that makes a lot of people laugh at this thread.

You getting banned from this thread and having to create a new login just to rejoin it would put you in the trump supporter category.

Even Frankie got banned from a previous edition of it. rofl

So that’s why you’re trump supporters. Because you support trump so vociferously you get banned from these threads.

I don't support Hitler.

Nor do I like large men to hold me down making ever so slightly hard to breathe whilst wearing nappies. No sir. Prove it.

Show me one time I said I did?

I don't dance the night Fandango with Eric from accounts on the second Tuesday of each month. (Apart from September, that's my wife birthday).

Prove it, show me the evidence. One quote. Just try.

You wanted an article about a child not returned to their parent?
If you read the Vox link you posted, that has a link "parents are being deported alone" which goes to this NYTimes article about a woman deported without her child and with no way of finding them - https://mobile.nytimes.com/2018/06/17/us/immigrati... .

Why do you think that anyone asking for humane treatment of families is also demanding unrestricted immigration? Has anyone actually said that?
As I pointed out before a primary driver behind catch and release was the Obama administration was stopped by law from "detaining" kids with their parents iirc. Trump decided catch and release is unacceptable so stopped it resulting in this situation.

From the sounds of it, it sounds like there is a lot of disorganisation with the HHS etc and children are being separated from their parents and "lost" in the system. That to me is utterly unacceptable and needs to be fixed and rapidly as there is no excuse.

How they deal with the parents with kids in terms of housing them together or separate is a matter of law and needs to be figured out but if the kids cannot stay with parents legally due to nothing done on trumps side other than stopping catch and release then its up to congress to rapidly come up with a solution.

Until that point in time they should continue to be separated (provided it is done in a manner that is humane ie parents and kids able to keep in contact and be re united within short order either in US or outside) as the democrats will do nothing about fixing the problem as it does not fit in with their open border fantasies.
