I put it down to a form of stockholm syndrome. Americans have been abused by their medical system for so long, they defend it.

Travelling to South America, I often converse with USians as they also speak English and go to bars. People who I'd consider quite astute and well grounded often get worked up into a lather over their health care system despite the evidence pointing to countries with universal health care systems as being cheaper and better quality.

We often baulk at the idea of paying £4000 per person out of the tax purse for the NHS... Spare a thought for our friends across the pond who spend US$9000 per person from the public purse... And then some from their own pockets.
indoctrination. The US is best is beat into them from birth, every form of media is owned by the elite and supports it, the founding has been mythologised and the constitution revered as a religious document. The whole rotten system protects itself very effectively.
it's why th gun thing won't change, the health thing won't change, the lobby thing won't change, the profit-first MO is too ingrained and has too much control. It direct links straight into the tribal nature of the human ape, like religion or royalty.

Further to yesterdays tweet will Trump claim any credit for the Thai cave being a success?
The second he tweets about how great it is the kids are reunited with their families, the obvious response is why aren't Mexican kids getting reunited?
And I suspect Musk isn't a Trump fan, so no congratulations for his actions either

^^^This 100%

There's little functionally wrong with the American economy but there's plenty that could go wrong if people act on bad information. There's a lot wrong with the information stream.

He tweeted:-

On behalf of the United States, congratulations to the Thai Navy SEALs and all on the successful rescue of the 12 boys and their coach from the treacherous cave in Thailand. Such a beautiful moment - all freed, great job!

Now let's see them try and visit the USA and not be allowed to enter...

America first? So he can credit the rsue of the Thai children and the return to their parents but what about the children that were taken from their parents on US soil? Aren't they supposed to be returned by today?
The ones Obama stole?

We can now see that this is normal behaviour for Trump - upset the allies of teh US and reach out to the "enemies" of the US.

On the NATO issue, he has a point - as did Obama, who also raised the issue of defence expenditure in Europe. It's the way he goes about making his point that's different - i.e. extremely undiplomatic and burning bridges which he might have to rely on at some future point. It's a dangerous game to play.

Source familiar tells NBC that Justice Kennedy had been in negotiations with the Trump team for months over Kennedy’s replacement. Once Kennedy received assurances that it would be Kavanaugh (his former law clerk) Kennedy felt comfortable retiring

Drain that swamp indeed...
There's more coming out about this, how a deal was done with Kennedy to get him to retire so trump could appoint a judge sympathetic before the midterms - handy if you're looking at impeachment charges. Kennedy gave Trump a list of 5 names, none of whom were on the list Trump promised voters he'd select Justices from and apparently said he'd only retire if Trump nominated someone on the list.

http://video.foxnews.com/v/5650490687001/?#sp=show...

Fox News got the exclusive via the White House and repeated the fake news that noone in the White House knew when Kennedy would retire but the deal was already done.

Also handy as Kennedy's son was Trump's money contact at Deutsche Bank, who loaned Trump lots of money before and during Deutsche Bank being investigated for laundering Russian money and Russia stood accused of interfering in the US election.

Something that Deutsche Bank has now been fined further for, having already been fined several times before

trumps arrived in Brussels for the NATO summit just as the Senate just passed 97-2 vote reaffirming the U.S. commitment to NATO.
https://www.defensenews.com/smr/nato-priorities/20...

As part of the protests for his UK visit, protesters in the U.K. have launched a campaign to play Green Day 'American Idiot' so many times that, by the time he arrives, the song will be the No. 1 single here.

Thought he was creating millions of jobs for Americans? Or is that just not when he's paying the salaries?

(If he bothers to pay them at all...)

Probably want to pay less or force the others to paying their equal share, loads of countries are not paying fully including Germany, Italy & France are not meeting their obligations who are some of the biggest economies.

I think its not just trump but even over here people are getting fed up paying for the rest of the world when problems at home are not getting fixed. Seems to be a new trend.
