Yep, the ones who want to follow our 'political' project.
What political project did the UK electorate vote for?

Until everyone round the table stops being utter plonkers and talks from a position of reality bugger all will actually get done. HMG needs to stop being an incoherent shower of donkey poop and the EU need to stop trying to demand the moon on a stick.
The EU clearly laid out their position right at the very start, and have barely changed it since. It's us that have all the daft ideas of what we want the post-Brexit relationship to look like.

The EU aren't asking for the moon on the stick.

They are merely ensuring that whatever position he UK ends up in, it is no better than what we have now.

The EU will obviously never agree to a deal that magically leaves us with benefits of EU membership, plus the alleged benefits of being out of the EU.

That would be stupid.
Look, I don’t mind the EU negotiating starting point - you ask for the kitchen sink up front. You expect your opposite numbers to do the same. When your opposite numbers can’t manage a brewery able to produce a single pint let alone a piss up then you aren’t going to lesson your demands - just leave them at default.

Alas - that now leaves us all at a position where one side have barely bothered waking up and another side that still has its default position on the table. Both of those things have to change for any vaguely sensible outcome.

As I keep saying, I actually have a fair amount of sympathy for Barnier in all this. We have been a shower!

What would you call it ?
Restoration of the way this country has been run for an order of magnitude longer than the EU has existed? Correction of a decision taken 25yrs ago that should never have been taken in the first place?

It’s that kind of attitude that I simply cannot understand.

‘Let’s go back to how it used to be!’

It used to be thoroughly crap. The UK has no record of post-war economic prosperity outside the EU. It was an absolute basket case of an economy.

Funny how it's always the Leavers that are suggesting that is the intention.

I voted for Brexit, it’s a bit disappointing to note that the most vocal brexiters on here seem to be talking utter nonsense.

It’s like at school when your class got divided into two groups and you see you’re in the one with all the people rubbish at sports or bottom of the class.

It’s a bit worrying really. Come on brexiters, say something positive rather than jingoistic nonsense about the EU falling apart without us and how bad they are.

For me brexit is a positive thing and an opportunity to create new deals and bonds with the EU and other countries. I’m more than confident both the EU and the U.K. will prosper after Brexit.

That’s possible but very unlikely. Although no prediction is certain, the most likely outcomes for the UK over the next few years are all very bad. I don’t think that’s in any doubt. The optimistic projections are very speculative and unlikely to prove correct, relying as they do on a series of very unlikely events all occurring.
