Gendarme on site a bit of a hero. Gave himself over in a hostage exchange and kept a covert phone line open so security forces knew what was going.
An exceptionally brave man.

A man who not only ran towards the sound of guns but when he got there he offered his life in exchange for an innocents, the word hero isn't big enough to describe him.

Sadly it would appear that although he and his wife had a civil marriage, they were planing on a church wedding later this year. Last night the minister who was to marry them gave him the last rites with his wife at his bedside.

Hero is used often in these times, this Man is one of the few that actually deserves to be called a hero i think.
