Of course they won’t donate it.

The dad is probably pissed that Charlie G’s cause raised £1.3m. 10x more.

Don’t see his parents rushing to assist financially or emotionally.

Is that a certain Karen Matthews in the crowd outside the hospital? eek

I've just read that a petition asking for the Queen to interject to save him has reached 110k signatures. Which neatly sums up the mentality of most of the protesters.

I'm pretty sure the medical team stated Alfie would most likely breath unaided for some time, once treatment was withdrawn?
Yep - it says as much in that judiciary document linked at the top of page 7

All these protestors must have generous employers who are willing to give them all this time off to support a cause so dear to them.

Oh wait...

Indeed. If these people really wanted to help kids like Alfie - they would be out earning, paying taxes, using services like the NHS etc efficiently and not pissing money up the wall that could be better spent researching treatments for ill kids.

The fact that they are also threatening and hindering Alder Hey staff, intimidating parents of other seriously ill kids (some of whom will be terminally ill) is absolutely abhorrent.

Of course - none of this matters as all they are interested in is having bragging rights on facebook that they were part of 'Alfie's army', sticking it to the establishment. It's sick.

It's beyond farcical.

This quote from the article:

One woman, Aneta Polit, told the paper: 'I am deeply upset that a small, innocent child was condemned to a terrible death by a British judge.

'I am surprised by the doctors, who are called to save lives, that they agreed to something like that. As a history teacher, I was immediately thought of the Auschwitz Birkenau camp, where people were condemned to death from hunger and thirst only because they were sick or the occupier considered them 'unnecessary'.

Right ho.

If she's a history teacher the education system really is screwed.

Surely if studying history has taught her anything - it's how dangerous propaganda or false information can be - especially when pushed by people with an agenda.

All the while this is going on - thousands of children are dying around the world every day, children who could be healthy and have bright futures had they received anything like the level of care Alfie has. Where is their social media campaign, where is their 'army'?

Absolutely. The world would be saved from rubbish like this…

''Make no mistake - Alder Hey is not simply wanting to remove Alfie's ventilator and let him pass away naturally, or even attempt to breath on his own. This is, without a doubt, a planned euthanising.''

I'm staggered by the total lack of respect that the "Alfie's Army" types have for both the NHS and the law.
Examples on 5 Live radio this morning: "the parents should have rights and be allowed to do what they want". How thick do you need to be not to understand that the child's welfare takes precedence?
Or, "the NHS is 100,000% (sic) corrupt". WTF??

Social media gives expression to large numbers of people who are just plain stupid, or are deluded conspiracy theorists who have zero grasp of the law, or indeed of the facts involved. Thank goodness we have a robust system in this country that, by and large, defeats the baying mob.

Quite. But that's the power of social media, even if only 1 person in 100 is a moron, if you reach a million people you can soon russle up an army of 10,000 morons.

I've seen somewhere that the police are now looking at social media comments and abuse.
Facebook post from Merseyside Police, regarding social media and potential offences/prosecutions.

Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT, read the comments. Your brain will explode.
