When you read some of the Facebook comments you can just see how utterly stupid a lot of people are.

I hope you're not suggesting that they jumped on the latest bandwagon, and now it's journey is ended, they will be off to look for the next bandwagon.

In all seriousness, this trend for a week of outrage followed by moving on to the next outrage is mindboggling. MPs expenses, BBC salaries, Grenfell, Brexit, Manchester Arena, Charlie Gard, Windrush, Alfie Evans. It's like at any given time, people's lives are empty unless they have something to rage about.

Those are a few that sprung to mind and I dare say I'm not entirely innocent myself.

The Alder Hey medical team, doctors, nurses etc will be back at work again today. Doing an unenviable job trying to save the lives of children. All without an 'army' of FaceBookers proffering support at every corner!

Spare a thought for them, as after caring for the child for so long, they will most certainly be feeling sad at his passing no matter what the circumstances and events of recent days.
If the parents have any class they will donate the money raised in Alfie's name to AH to make up for the ststorm and hatred directed to the staff involved in caring for their child.

Alfie Evans passed away at 0230 this morning.
Which of course, won’t be the end of it. I hope his family get the chance to grieve in peace, but I rather suspect not.
I think they’ll get it if they want it.
Wouldn't it be nice if they recouped a little shred of dignity and credibility by
(a) Thanking the medical staff for their unstinting care, skill and dedication over the past year
(b) Donated all the money raised to the hospital to help other seriously ill children
(c) Advised others in this position not to be misled by cynical people with an agenda

Fat chance.

Unfortunately you're right, it will be used to persue the doctors involved in caring for their child.

I doubt even that.

I presume there are many hundreds of parents in a similar situation every year, just getting on with it.

"I was sitting home alone one night in LA watching old Cronkite on the seven o'clock news,
Seems there was an earthquake that left nothing but a Panama hat and a pair of old shoes.
Well didn't seem like much was happening so I turned it off an' went to grab another beer,
Seems like ever time you turn around, there's another hard luck story that you're gonna hear..."

The cynic in me feels that the father is going to milk this as much as possible once the child has passed away. I can't see him grieving with dignity in private.

I hope the media don't pander to him.
Big Brother of Celebrity Jungle appearance on the cards.
As long as he isnt in the Sun the whole of liverpool will back him sadly. These things should be private IMO. Sadly it will be dragged out like other liverpool disasters.

What, like 25yd breast-stroke and an NVQ in cake decoration laugh

That'll show those poncy medics with their 'qualifications'.

You forgot the classic "nail technician"

The poor lad is in a better place now not in any pain at all. Sadly I think that his mum may end up with a new bust, lips and nose within 6 months while the dad has a season ticket for a local football club & time share in Benidorm.

Lets hope it disappears like the Ebola episode.

He died two years ago. He stopped twitching today.

I'm glad the parents will finally get the chance to grieve, properly. They didn't deserve this, even if they contributed.

I find it ironic that religion has been brought up, when this is the sort of thing that makes one lose faith in any God. Killing a child is bad enough, but hollowing them out and leaving a spasming husk for their parents? That's one fking cruel jape.

It certainly makes me lose faith in organised religion. A real injustice has been done against the workers there, and that the utter ststains who perpretrated it for their own vanity will not face consequences - in the civil court, at the very least - is scarcely credible.

RIP Alfie.

I think many people bit their tongues to start with but recently and on that post more people came out in support of the hospital and against the parents.

Some fkwit on FB will suggest they had a time machine and did it to him on Monday and brought him back to the present.
