1. Haven't SRAM had a 1 x 12 transmission for a while already?

2. I'm pretty sure I had a twelve speed transmission in the early 1980s. 53/39 up front and a 6-speed screw-on freewheel on the back...

wink

Was announced a few weeks ago, not available til June.

As a die hard Campag fan I have to say the new groupo is gopping, looks cheap.

12-speed technology has been around for a while however the Eagle drivetrains are MTB specific with a 42t (or larger) to give you an extra gear for very technical climbs, whereas the Campag option is all about making the jumps between gears smaller and more consistent i.e. the same technology is being used to solve different issues.

42 tooth? One of the group I was out with yesterday was using a SRAM Eagle 12 speed cassette with a 50 tooth inner sprocket!

SRAM eagle stuff has the big sprocket dished so it sits over the spokes, that works due to the large diameter. The campag 12 speed has a 29 tooth big sprocket so I don't think they can be doing the same thing here. Are they using an even narrower chain?

5.5mm for C11 to 5.15mm C12 chain width.

Gives you 5-6mm extra room across the cassette allowing the 12th gear, 12 speed cassettes will fit existing 9/10/11 spd Campag wheels.

Genuinely surprised at this. What with SRAM having 12p Eagle AND pushing 1x for road and CX bikes, I was expecting them to be the first with this, perhaps within the first big update to eTap.
