Buying a 2015 X1 Diesel and 2020 Nitrogen Oxide Limits
Discussion
morning
I am looking at a 2015 X1 with the N47D20O1 diesel engine.
Probably going to take it over 3 years which will mean I need to get it MOT'd after the new stricter emissions limits come in for diesels in 2020.
Do any of you think this is something I should be concerned with/ potentially avoid?
Did a quick google but didnt find anything of note.

I can't see MOT tests, as soon as 2020, failing cars as new as 2015 if that's your point. I am looking at a 2015 X1 with the N47D20O1 diesel engine.

But how much more is a 2015 X1 of the current generation, I have one, have driven a 2014, and the newer one is much better.

found a nice 320i but only thing is it has done 28k miles in a year..
looks to be an ex lease car do you think this should be avoided?
its a very good price.
Im coming from a ford cmax diesel so the 320 will feel like a Ferrari!
Not necessarily, on the upside it could be gentler m/way miles and often company cars are serviced completely accurately. looks to be an ex lease car do you think this should be avoided?

Get a look at the book and the idrive, see where that is. If it's all up to date that can save a lot of money.
Obviously look at the condition, in case the lease meant lots of people drove it and thus no one cared for it. But I did 28k miles p/a year in year out and my company cars (Mondeos) were in decent nick, all serviced correctly and the one that didn't go over 120k as I changed jobs was a good buy for it's new owner.
I'm a big fan of the 1 private owner, low mileage cars but they may not be in your budget.
cheers mate.
they are not 100% sure whether it was a lease car etc.
when you say check the idrive do you just mean see what version its on or something else?
