I thought we were assured this wasn't going to happen if we voted out?

Lots of things were "promised" - and all of them were lies or have been shown to be political garbage.

If other non EU countries pay the £6 (do they?) then surely no problem.

Impossible. We've been promised the following, so this kind of thing can’t happen:

Deep and special partnership
Bespoke deal
Brexit dividend

Any attempt to predict any kind of sub-optimal outcome represents a) Remoaning b) Talking the country down.

Eroding British people's rights probably isn't what most of us voted for.

If you think you were promised anything, you didn't understand the vote or implications. Do Remainers just pretend not to know this, or do they really not understand ?

one of the main reasons people voted out was the control over immigration - (even if incorrectly)

So nobody should complain about more stringent border rules.

I welcome them.

Indeed, though we were also assured that financial meltdown would also happen if the Country voted leave!

They blatantly don't understand. I am a little surprised any are posting at the moment as most must be hanging out at Alder Hey today.

Meh - plenty of countries have entrance visa fees or departure taxes.

To visit the US you have to apply for an ESTA which costs around £9. Mexico has an exit tax of around £45.

You may have it as a main reason but literally no other leave voters on pistonheads had this as one of the main reasons for voting leave though if you believe what they write. Amazing isnt it?

So what. We'll charge the buggers £6 to come here. And £50 to leave. That'll learn them.

Seeing as the recession to match the GFC of 2008 didn't happen in QTR 3 of 2016, I'm sure the proposed cost of the Visa which equates to little more than £2.00 pa, and for as many visits to EU countries as you like over the three year lifespan of the proposed ETIAS, it won't cause to much financial hardship.

I voted remain to be clear.

In my circle of friends family etc.........the ones that voted for Brexit - the reason was very much based around the loss of British control, British values and immigration.

No idea on the PH types have said - I don't like the Brexit threads, they're nearly as bad as the Corbyn threads!

Not really no.

Of those who voted to leave 49% of voters didn't have control over immigration as their main reason for voting leave, so it wouldn't be beyond belief that those posting on PH didn't also have immigration control as their main reason for voting leave either.

It's amazing you couldn't work that out for yourself.
