More Slaughter At The Israel Border

I certainly don't give Israel a pass in the matter (for whatever that's worth, haha!) but the fact remains, the one sure way not to get your child killed at the protest, is not to go to the protest.
The South African apartheid state used this justification for the Sharpville massacre .p1stonhead said:

Really? You can't see any other outcome?
Is this all just some weird PH dominate the stairs posturing that I'm missing here?
You don't think that they take their children along quite deliberately ?Is this all just some weird PH dominate the stairs posturing that I'm missing here?
Obviously not.

I would have hoped that, after all these years, just about everybody would know what to expect from the Israelis. I'm really struggling to see why women and children have, presumably voluntarily, offered themselves up to be shot.
The onus is on the Israelis not to shoot women and children.People are making it sound like the Israelis have no choice but to shoot them. I honestly can't believe this, what's wrong with you all?

But, but they warned people they might get shot. That must give them a pass, right?People are making it sound like the Israelis have no choice but to shoot them. I honestly can't believe this, what's wrong with you all?
In other news South Africa has withdrawn its embassador to Israel in response to the slaughter. When South Africa thinks you’ve got a bit too apartheidy it might be worth sitting down and thinking about what you’ve done.
The comment that follows is not my point of view, nor is it my opinion, now this disclaimer has been put in black and white I don't want to see selective quotes and accusations of racism or any other stuff that I don't believe in.
Heard, in the pub...
"Israel is the only country putting the islams in their place" followed by the response "yes, I suppose so if you look at it like that, the arabs love a fight and if Israel didn't do it no one would."
Now when I heard it I was a bit shocked but its a generation thing, the speakers were much older than me. Got me thinking though what a middle east with no Israel would be like, I suspect it would still be a place of strife, just the players would be different.

Radio 4 interview a couple of women on the way to these protest who were taking their children.
The interviewer asked if they were worried the children would get hurt of killed
No they answered, the land needs blood,
Not only were they not worried they were hoping their children became martyrs.
Interesting culture they have.
It was Bob Dylan who said that when you ain't got nothing, you've got nothing to lose. It's only recently that the idea of self preservation has seeped down to the masses in this country. Look at the forlorn hope. It is difficult to sit in judgement on their culture, if that's what it is, when we're worried about the Tesco merger. The interviewer asked if they were worried the children would get hurt of killed

The people of Gaza have choices...stark ones: to die on their knees or die on their feet.
Bloody Sunday happened once, but they get one practically every week.
The people of Gaza have the choice of having a modern safe state of their own. They get billions of dollars in aid each year from the Emirates and other Arab countries (who don't want them anywhere near them). They prefer to spend the cash on military equipment and building tunnels into Israel.Bloody Sunday happened once, but they get one practically every week.

It was also Bob Dylan who said:"Well, the neighborhood bully, he's just one man
His enemies say he's on their land
They got him outnumbered about a million to one
He got no place to escape to, no place to run
He's the neighborhood bully.
The neighborhood bully he just lives to survive
He's criticized and condemned for being alive
He's not supposed to fight back, he's supposed to have thick skin
He's supposed to lay down and die when his door is kicked in
He's the neighborhood bully."

Naive in the extreme but also incredibly inaccurate, also laughable to have any notion that Israel is some sort of victim. They are the recipients of billions of dollars in funding and military spending and they have blockaded the occupied territories and cut off any likelihood of the Palestinians hope of statehood. Their brutality has empowered Hamas in Gaza. They have no interest in peace and the Americans have been shown to be the dishonest party in these peace negotiations over the years.Edited by 968 on Monday 14th May 20:36
