Three killed after being hit by a train in London.

Because without Charlie making odd noises, I'd have never realised how dangerous playing on the train line was...
Despite the paucity of public films I can assure you my ‘current generation’ are fully aware of the dangers of the railway. Their parents tell them you see?I asked Mrs Noisy who teaches Primary and she also tells me schools regularly have days/assemblys/talks etc about this, drugs, booze, internet yada yada.
I’m not sure the State’s lack of films (likely due to Tory austerity) can be blamed for this one.

I’ve never got round to appreciating graffiti.
I'm not an "arty type" but a few years ago did a walking Graffiti tour in London, it was a very very interesting experience. However it did leave me in 2 minds, on one hand some of the graffiti is very clever and the graffiti culture is interesting, one the other hand it is defacing other peoples property at some cost. Not sure where I stand, but definitely not "scum" as tweeted.

Anybody care to retract their ill judged comments about "promising footballers" and assumptions that the young men killed were barely literate moped thieves yet?

Is it really necessary to deride them as scum?
Is it really necessary to refer to them as "artists"?Herr Schnell said:

Nothing in that article contradicts that they were low level criminals. The ex-TFL blokes comments are perhaps a little insensitive but he's absolutely correct.https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-44534...
At least we now know who was responsible for all the graffiti featuring their tag names so the property owners that have suffered losses and financial inconvenience can now hopefully claim against their estates.
Given their fecklessness and stupidity however I doubt there would be much of any value.
Unless it had been provided by the parents of course.
Cheers,
Tony

....."He was an intelligent and wonderful boy who had so many close friends," they said.
Hmmm..... how intelligent is to go about vandalising others property and put yourself at mortal risk?
Just goes to show even the biggest idiot is still someones little 'Cherub'. To which you have to have some sympathy for the famillies that there prodigy was stupid enough to do this to them!

Where exactly is the “bleeding heart bollcks” you refer to ?The only bks I have seen is from the classic PH NP&E crew pre-empting what they claim will happen but of course won’t.
On a related point and not aimed at you directly, constantly trotting out “promising footballer” because you don’t have the backbone to say black really is pathetic.
This part of the forum really is home to some utter s.

That's not what that phrase means at all. Suggest you stop being racist. That’s exactly what some folk mean when they say it.
It’s become a ph meme.

This was just another tragedy that was waiting to happen.
A couple things caught my eye (and having been born into an artistic family, neither has anything remotely to do with 'art'!).
One was that the three were 'intelligent'.
Yeah, and without an ounce of that so rare ingredient today: 'common sense'.
The tragedy took place on an elevated stretch of track where there was no 'refuge' to escape trains on busy commuter line.
The other was a graffiti fan who paid this tribute:
When I see new tags and graf track side I'm pleasingly reminded that we don't all live in a boring servile society. among the adverts spoonfed to us are small reminders that there are thrills to be had. RIP K-Bag, Lover and Trip.
I'm now thinking lawless and thick as st.
The operative word in his/her tribute is those three 'artist' friends no longer 'live'.

For clarity I don’t believe that everybody who uses the term associates it as such. I am however comfortable in my assertion that for some people it is a proxy for inner city kids from broken families and black or mixed race backgrounds.
Can I prove that ? No. Am I going to argue with you over it ? No.

In recent years we have been told to feel sorry for someone when they are killed because they are a promising footballer, DJ, Urban free climber or some other bks when in fact they all tend to have died due to crime or links to crime. Mark Duggan was described as a promising footballer which white washed the fact he was also a drug dealer and a viloent one at that.
The colour of skin has nothing to do with it an nore should it.
