Some people are just wired wrong, no amount of rehab can fix that.
It appears to have worked in the case of Robert Thompson, who by all accounts has gone on to lead a productive life with no further reoffending.Ive a daughter a bit younger, but I cant read the news on it, utterly horrendous
Looks like they left the keys in the door, he walked in and took her out of her bed: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-wes...
I mean poor, poor , poor girl

Everytime I read or watch programmes on these tragic events, the same thoughts go through my head....id just want revenge, but then the more I think about it. The more I just think how could I actually do it. How could I bring myself to carry out the revenge.
What happens if the murderer doesn't get what they deserve? How would we, as parents and in particular a father of 2 girls feel?
It scares the hell out of me. It really does, all I want to do is cuddle my girls after reading things like this :-(

Piece of st.
I think the drug courier / dealer statements are a bit wide of the mark though. All these remote islands and highland towns are full of local yokel types who for the youth that don't get away all they do is drink, smoke weed etc it is not usually the root cause.
This is just one individual evil piece of st.

You think about revenge, but then if you carried this out you'd be hurting your own family also. If you had two daughters and one gets murdered, your life is still about taking care of and loving the remaining daughter, not carrying out revenge for one that's already gone. I don't have kids and have no real desire to be a parent but I felt physical revulsion when I read the news report on this. It's just so incredibly senseless and his defence sounds like the ramblings of a very stupid immature child.
It's tragic that a child lost her chance at a life, tragic that a family have lost their little girl who should have been safe even with the door wide open. It's also a sad state of affairs for the family of the kid who did this as they'll no doubt have to totally uproot themselves and live very anonymously from now on.
Ironically the person who will suffer the least emotional punishment from this is the murderer. Both families meanwhile have to carry on with their lives and the memory of what's happened. He gets to live out his life in a very easy to follow regime with no responsibility for anything.

That's a fair point, well made. Thank you.Apparently googled "how do police find DNA?" after it so not the brightest spark - I don't mean the question, rather thinking that wouldn't be found on his phone.
I would agree with the post not to 'blame' the video games and drugs. Those are just fuel for the person that already has these inclinations and will act on it.

What I don't get, from what I've read, is how he managed to kidnap her whilst everyone slept without her making any noise?
It's not totally impossible that the phone call he made to the Dads girlfriend in the middle of the night was to alert her to assist with this but he vastly exaggerated to the police the role that she played.Gassing Station | News, Politics & Economics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
