I think you are missing my point, either that or I have not argued my case succinctly.
In order to gain the Presidency, Trump has resorted to " dog whistle " politics and in doing so has aligned himself with some extreme right wing bedfellows.
This strategy has allowed extremists to crawl out of the closet as their extreme views are being encouraged and legitimised.
There are moderate nuggets of facts in the statements he makes regarding immigration, crime, unfair trade competition etc. however these facts are much more nuanced than Trump would have it.
Trump and other populist leaders would not have gained power if the political establishment had not ignored and patronised the concerns of a substantial minority of the electorate.
Regarding whether or not Trump has a particular problem with "Blacks" , not a term I particularly like or wish to use as I believe it is ridiculous to characterise people by the colour of their skin, but that's the terminology that modern parlance has agreed on, I know not but some of those that support him have.
I think it would be hard if not impossible to argue that black people have not often taken the brunt of extremist propaganda and violence in the USA over the past 200 years.
Had black people been embraced by their fellow citizens as normal human beings and not been enslaved and treated as a third class, sub human citizens because of the colour of their skins the USA and the World would be a much better place.
Apart from base prejudice I fail to understand how others cannot understand that in any community, tribe or race there will be good and bad people.
Recognise this as a fact, but do not demonise a whole sector of mankind because of that fact.
Good post. My bold; I don't think that there was a way for 'establishment' to acknowledge concerns of that substantial minority. I'd love to read what was it if you think that there was a way for 'establishment' to effectively acknowledge those concerns.
Ho,ho ....it might take a book.
Very briefly.....by acknowledging them....
People see injustices or perceived injustices.
The establishment's response, if any, might be to say, for example.....
a )" Nothing to see here ".
b) " You are a racist ".
c) " We know what's best for you".
For years the political establishment have patronised or demonised that large minority that have voiced concerns and those concerns have been brushed aside.
For any society to operate successfully the laws that govern that society must be fair and just and be acknowledged to be so, to all in that society.

The reasons that lay behind those laws

Today saw the arrival of Emir Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani of Qatar visiting the UK.

They enforce Sharia Law, have less rights for women, being Gay is punishable by death.

So any protests in London? a bigger cause to protest than Trumpy. The lefties have gone very quiet today.

A war would be a good thing right now for Trump. Impeachment is very unlikely in the event of an ongoing war.

I have noticed that after the recent twitter user purge there seems to be a lot more negative comment appearing in his tweets. There is a lot less of the MAGA rubbish that previously appeared.
Twitter purged over 200,000 russian bot accounts one night and trumps follower accounts dropped the same number biggrin

So Twitter does not apply the same rules to him as they do to everybody else?

Twitter is as big a destructive force in this shambles as the Russians or Trump himself.

What about the "righties"(?) are they protesting?

Are you protesting? He sounds like a very bad man, and you seem to know a bit about him and his visit?

I have no problem with Trump supporters posting their views. They do have a habit though of turning on those they don't agree with and generally dumbing down and spoiling the discussion. They have been warned multiple times and have even been thrown of threads. It is a bit sad really.

Of course they've gone quiet, there won't be any protests as it's cool to bash Trump, it's pathetic and they have no consistency at all!

What power does he have to influence the UK?

That's why there was no protest, giving him the wind of your fart legitimises him.

Those people who protested about Trump got off their backsides and actually did something because they felt strongly about it.

I'm sure you and Paul feel strongly about women's rights and gay rights. therefore no doubt you'll be protesting and not making some limp excuse about "being busy" ......

Historical reports of the type of man Fred Trump was and what he used to do to and for Donald and his brothers give us quite an insight into how screwed up his family is/was.

Especially given the fact Don's brother killed himself due to alcoholism led on by the way his dad and Donald ganged up and bullied the hell out of him for not wanting to go into the family business.

The signs are there if people actually want to look and it's obvious that Eric is right that he's still trying to gain approval in his dead dad's eyes. That lack of love and respect can leave someone with a seriously huge chip on their shoulder and some very anti-social behavioural issues, not to mention rampant narcissism coming from an incessant need to prove oneself and never quite being satisfied.
Parental motivational love is a big pusher in a lot of people's lives, especially great people. CHurchill had a stty dad, which pushed him onto doing what he wanted to do.

Actually he arrived yesterday. Many ME royals spend their whole summers here. If you fancy a protest you’d probably find some unelected Sheikh/Emir/Prince at the Dorchester most days.

Anyhoo protests are planned I believe https://m.gulfnews.com/news/gulf/qatar/angry-prote...

Trump wields a lot more power than the Qatar Emir does. The US President is also the face of democracy and western civilisation, at the moment we have a racist child snatching wotsit as that face. Other western democracies are understandably not best pleased about this.

I can't remember the Emir letting a foreign power pick their secretary of state.
That Butina indictment is huge in it's details revealed, how the russians were totally intwined with team trump, even down to loading the initial administration with their preferred people.
