The st is truly hitting the fan tonight. A second woman has come forward with claims against Kavanaugh and Avenatti claims that he has evidence of gang rape involving the nominee. I wouldn’t be surprised if Kavanaugh withdraws.
Tomorrow should be fun.

That is a hell of a fking email isnt it!

Is everyone in US politics hiding just insane things from the public? Or just Trump's mates?

You've gotta wonder how long the GOP's going to keep doubling down? Sooner or later some of them must realise that the eventual backlash could hurt them for decades to come.
If they keep digging that hole, they'll end up in Moscow. wink
Someone sell them a ladder, oh wait, there's a tariff on aluminium. Bugger. laugh

If Kavenaugh was sensible he'd withdraw his nomination himself, then he'd still have a job to go to. Fernstein is now pushing for a full FBI investigation, now that there are further claims. It's one thing lying to congress, they don't seem to care, but the FBI take lying to them very seriously, just ask other team trump members...

Kavenaugh says he has a calendar from the year in question, 1982, which proves he wasn't at any party as it's not on the calendar
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/09/23/us/politics/kav...

Where did that suddenly come from? Would you really list a house party of underage drinking on a calendar when you were 17?
This is flimsy at best, and this is supposed to be from a judge proposed for the highest postion in the USA?

Only the best people eh donald?

He kept a calendar for 35 years?!

And yes as you say, 17 years olds don’t keep calendars!

Based on trumps levels of lies it could be as below;

Saturday - Rape Party Birthday Party

hehe

ON this weeks Bill Maher show, it was mentioned that justices have talked about sitting presidents being charged, but only Kavanaugh has gone on record to state they definitely cannot be. Trump loves him. biggrin

Thats probably part of it - but Anthony Kennedy spent months negotiating his retirement with the White House. What did he get in return?

Why are they so desperate for Kavanaugh?

There are plenty of other judges who support the same views...
The same reason they want anything. They believe it annoys "liberals" and don't stop to think.
I think the principal reason they want him is that he's bought and paid for.

Record number of children in custody so funds are being taken from other programs to pay for it, including from cancer research.
The Department of Health and Human Services announced that they still couldn’t find 1,500 children that were released from government custody during a three-month period. The U.S. government is currently housing 13,000 children through HHS.

https://edition.cnn.com/2018/09/20/politics/hhs-sh...

The documents obtained by CNN show various programs that are losing money because of the Trump administration’s ill-advised attack on immigrants. Head Start, a program that benefits American children will lose $16.7 million while the CDC is losing $16.7 million including $3.8 million from much needed HIV programs. Trump is also stealing money from Medicare and Medicaid program operations at a cost of $9.8 million. The National Cancer Institute will also lose $13.3 million. Numerous other programs are also losing millions in funding.

Did I read it correctly that BK had backing from businesses ?

Thought the SC was supposed to be above all that
Trump was given a list of potential nominees by the federalist society. It has nothing to do with siding with the people.

They basically want the states to decide things, rules of religion (i.e. I don't have to serve gays because my religion says so) and the ability to do whatever they want with their property (poison water anyone???) run by an ultra conservative catholic. What could possibly go wrong.

A decent summary here.

Rumours that Rosenstein has resigned as deputy AG. If this is true, things might be about to take a turn into an even bigger pile of st.

Oh dear. Rumours say the resignation is in anticipation of Trump's firing him.

So Trump presumably appoints a loyalist with the intention of removing Mueller. What next? The sealed indictments are released?
