Rumours that Rosenstein has resigned as deputy AG. If this is true, things might be about to take a turn into an even bigger pile of st.
Various sources confirming this!Zod said:
Oh dear. Rumours say the resignation is in anticipation of Trump's firing him.
So Trump presumably appoints a loyalist with the intention of removing Mueller. What next? The sealed indictments are released?
Is there a reason he jumped before being pushed? Any benefit for him or the legal issues for trump doing it this way?So Trump presumably appoints a loyalist with the intention of removing Mueller. What next? The sealed indictments are released?

What happened after Nixon fired his A-G?
Nixon had lost all support within his party. The current republicans in the senate can't collectively muster one spine and one set of balls between them. Unless the sealed indictments include footage of Trump stting on the American flag I think he'll get away with it.
Just read his ttter post about hosting Japan PM at Trump tower... lots of comments not happy about him profiting out of it, why not have it at the white house? Why don't they do anything about this kind of swampyness?
Imagine what Drumpf would have said if Obama had done something like this at one of his businesses...

Given what's happening now, Friday's report on Rosenstein may indeed have been leaked by Trump allies who'd sat on it for months and timed its release to Trump's desire to fire the DAG and end the Mueller probe. What we're seeing looks like the execution of a set emergency plan.
methinks there's more team trump st stiring:
.@PeteWilliamsNBC reports on @MSNBC that Rod Rosenstein is on his way to the White House. He has been summoned to the W.H. The W.H. is saying Rosenstein will resign. But it's Pete's understanding that he will not resign and that if the W.H. wants him out, he'll have to be fired.

According to the NY Post:
Under the Federal Vacancies Reform Act, Trump has the power to appoint an acting AG if it’s a resignation.
If he is fired, the process is murkier and governed by federal employment laws.
So it is possible that Rosenstein knows he is out and is trying to force a sacking in order to slow the replacement process. It may also explain why there are reports that he verbally resigned on Friday, so the WH can claim that today it accepted that resignation and can move to appoint an acting DAG.
I would have thought that sacking Rosenstein in order nakedly to appoint a successor who will fulfil Trump's wishes to shut down Mueller's enquiry is a pretty dangerous game for Trump to play. In most versions of normal reality a large chunk of his party would react negatively to that and up the chances of impeachment. In the current crazytown version of DC though, I'm not so sure.

MSNBC reporting that the WH says Rosenstein was coming to the WH to tender his resignation.
But also that the DOJ says that he was going to the WH to be fired.
And now it seems he still has his job - for now.
Sounds like he turned out, said "I'm not resigning. Fire me if you want me out" and the WH said "Ummm, can we get back to you about that?". IOW, someone managed to persuade Trump that the optics of firing Rosenstein right now were so terrible he would be better to hold off.
