Graham was unbelievable just then. Lots of angry old men in there today.
He behaved in a pretty suspicious manner himself, I think. He's much more angry than the rest of his colleagues. I wonder why.

This is a fascinating look at the critical intersection between the political and legal systems in the US. It’s not pretty is it.
A lot of hate for the other side in that room.

His resistance to an FBI investigation is very telling.
Hes testifying that he is innocent, but refuses to call on the White House to order an FBI investigation or say why he doesn't want one.
Literally no other questions need to be asked.
It's fairly obvious an FBI investigation would ruin his chances as it would be dragged out past the elections.

His hands are tied whether he wants an investigation or not

I can’t decide whether the country is overly politicised or overly legalistic. Perhaps both.

This is a sham. I wasn’t aware of how insane this was in that the FBI have to be asked to investigate rather than just doing it.

Why do the GOP st on the FBI so much? I thought they were supposed to be the top of the top and people would be proud of the agency?

The GOP are very angry. It’s telling.

It takes a certain type of person. Not always the most pleasant of people.

A clear question "have you ever been out drinking and not remembered things the next day?" And he fails to answer, asking the questioner if they have, god this bloke is not even a good liar, shameful but the republicans will vote him in and Trump will love him and USA will be fked.

Ford survived 11 rounds of questioning by the Republicans’ “female assistant.” Kavanaugh had to be rescued after two rounds.

This has devolved into a sham. Hostility and a refusal to answer even the most basic of questions, and the friendly members talking for their 5 minutes, barely asking a question.

I'd no idea this was how US politics operated, its been very eye opening.

To be fair he has been rescued from the Democrats rather than the female assistant. I'm surprised it took them that long.

I find it staggering that somebody of Kavanaugh's ability and experience didn't have a better response ready to the question of an FBI investigation.

The whole charade is an embarrassment.

He's busy lying. He said that he couldn't have sexually assaulted Dr. Ford because he was out of town nearly every weekend in the summer of 1982 and was too busy working during the week, but that not want his calendar entries show...

He's a terrible liar.

Indeed.

As I said previously, it is as if the veneer of respectability and civility that was applied in the late Victorian era to public life in Anglo-Saxon nations has been stripped off
completely recently.

As said, he's a terrible liar, wrote it all in his year book, boasting. Will they ask if boof means anal?

All of the things in his yearbook have sexual connotations according to anything online. All of his explanations are just nonsense.

I wonder if any coming questions will ask about the questions Kavanaugh wanted to ask Clinton and whether he thinks FBI investigations would be justfied into similar sexual allegations against the President...

That devil's triangle answer was deeply unconvincing. He didn't even explain the rules properly!
