Sarah sanders press conference was just full out lying yesterday.
She claimed gillum was under FBI investigation when he's not. Trump is of course...

"It should be shocking when a press secretary lies from behind the W.H. podium, unfortunately under Pres. Trump it's just another Monday ... It's simply wrong to say Mayor Gillum is under FBI investigation—he’s not under FBI investigation and the FBI has confirmed it."

Gillum has an ethics investigation.

Trumps sending an additional 5200 troops to the border even though the migrant caravan is two months away. Using troops now for his political gain. Didn't he accuse Obama of probably starting a war before an election?

Never, ever, ever wrestle with pigs,” Gillum quoted “because you both get dirty, but the pig actually likes it.”

I think you maybe need to look deeper in to this caravan situation. Mid term elections coming up, so this was possibly initially organised and orchestrated inside Ecuador by Republicans in an attempt to bolster Trump support with the fear of mass immigration of 'un-desirables' from the south?...….just an alternative thought that is more than possible.

There must be many insiders placed within these ventures to convince people to leave the only homes they have ever known, and take along young children to an unknown territory hundreds of miles away on foot. There must be a combination of persuasion and force at play, where the fog of background war and related chaos provides excellent cover for the efficient handling of any dissent or opposition to these massive exoduses.

Refugees don't need outsiders to convince them that their situation is desperate.

The Irish who left Ireland in the 1840s and 1850s were not persuaded to leave by outside influences. They left in order to survive.

Different situation and distance entirely. The current caravan are facing a wall and 500 US troops determined not to let them pass. When they reach it, Trump will boast how his 'wall' has worked in protecting America (omitting to mention all the casualties of course). Fox news reporters are with them as well ;-) so you have to wonder about the timing of this. Politics is not so black & white as we all think.

Isnt the 'caravan' some weeks or months off?

He is only doing this to get his supporters riled up for next week.

By the time it gets here, itll be old news and the GOP (if he doesnt do something how) may not even control various bits.

5,000 troops - not 500.

Desperate people do desperate things.

They don't need to be provoked by made up conspiracies. I really think that at least 1/.3 of the world is now "mental" in that they are buying into conspiracies at every turn. What the hell happened?

If it came to that, I think the American commanders will refuse to fire. Any attempt for Trump to interfere, especially outside the chain of command will result in a constitutional crisis and an inevitable downfall. A president cannot give an order to a Captain, he has to issue orders through the joint chiefs who are not political appointees, so not beholden to Trump or his interests.

American military commanders are anything but daft, it's drilled into them that "I was only following orders" is no defence and that shooting women and children is a war crime. JCoS's know that, so will never issue the order. Besides this, the majority of US servicemen are not committed to Trumps cause, so they can't be relied on to follow orders blindly.

My money is on the refugees settling in Mexico, Mexico will probably be paid off by the US administration to take them so that the fallibility of Trump's wall isn't questioned. Mexico has already issued a number of temporary work permits for them.

Besides, 5200 troops to defend 1,954 miles, assuming they're all combatants (they wont be, over half will be support and logistics) that puts one platoon (9 soldiers) for every 3.3 miles. A large part of Trump's "wall" is the Rio Grande (Rio is Spanish for river, lets not tell the Orange one this), which can be crossed by boat or swimming. When Trump's wall comes to mind, the first thing I see is Swiss cheese.

I am not buying into any conspiracy, just thinking outside the box and not taking mainstream news as gospel like most do. I agree desperate people do desperate things, but they are also easily manipulated as a result.

In this case, "thinking outside the box" equates to making things up in your own head i.e. making up a conspiracy all of your own - which is probably even worse than buying into someone else's conspiracy.

I don't think I could have a lower opinion of Sanders. At least Spicer had the good grace to look positively discomforted by his own utterances from time to time. Sanders appears to have only her own (ie Trump's) version of the truth in her head, genuine contempt for the press corp and be a hard core ideologue.

I was not suggesting that the troops fire on them, the casualties I mention meaning 'any who died on route'. Sure, some will successfully pass unreported into the US through various weak points, but the spotlight 'and reported Trump triumph' will be on those successfully turned back.

Rubbish. Do you not believe in questioning every political decision, or global situation for any potential motives being for good or bad?......if not then you just continue being the 'sad following sheep' they want you to be. Nothing wrong with expressing an alternative viewpoint or opinion of why things happen and is why this thread even exists, so maybe this is one reason why you shouldn't be on this one given your comment.
