Paediatrician - specialising in children's ailments. The 'original' ae is a diphthong, in some case broken down into "a e", and in others reduced to just "e".

This seems to be a case of a casual insult, thrown around in his own company, not realising the enormity of the insult and potential damage when used in the open. Like casual racism / sexism where the perpetrator doesn't even realise that they've been offensive.
Much like what happens here sometimes.

The subsequent comment from him - "Bet ya a signed dollar it's true" - suggests otherwise.

Does the fact that he tweeted it and he has 22 million followers change your mind?

For pity's sake Eric, can't you just leave it and stop hijacking the thread?

That pretty much proves that he admits that what he wrote was wrong.

But no subsequent apology also says a lot about him too. He half admits to an error, but won't formally say "sorry" or attempt to give an explanation. Maybe one will be forthcoming, but this has already damaged his image.

He who lives by social media dies by social media?

It seem clearly calculated based upon the 'stereotype' a single, older Brit has moved to Thailand because they are interested in sexual relationships with children.

The Tweet where he writes "(sus)", and subsequent Tweets make this quite clear.

I genuinely didn't actually. I didn't realise that it had a different spelling in the US. I studied Latin at school so understood that Latin based words with the prefix "Pedo" were connected with walking - as shown above.

Shows that an education in the Classics can do more harm than good.
well I didn't know either, I thought he'd misspelled pedro or something.

It also seems Musk is belittling the efforts of the rescuers by saying they could have just swum in and out of there, no need to be submerged at all.

Why consider making a submarine device then?

One things for sure, he’d never have made it through the tunnels with the size of his ego.

What a nasty, despicable creature he appears to be.

You thought Musk was accusing him of being a Pedro?

I think there is, right now, a short pause whilst the rest of the grown up world evaluates what he's just done.

Thereafter, unless he can provide a miraculously convincing argument as to that not being 'his' tweet/opinion, the guy is toast. It is being reported around the media right now and does not look good, but I think it will get worse.

Yes, it maybe have been low enough to swim in with no gear after all the pumping "which is obv how the kids got in" - no s-t, they certainly didn't cave dive their way in. Then in a further tweet said the pump and generator guys are the unsung heroes (perhaps hard working helpers like many others sure, but I doubt they laid the pipes very far in).

Essentially he was saying the cave dive rescuers weren't heroes because they just walked/swum the kids out. Presumably ignoring the many days of diving in and out to keep them stocked and supplied with O2.

Not to mention the fact that someone died keeping them alive.

It does of course beg the question, if you could just swim in with no gear, why did Elon not just do this when he got there. Also, why did he bring a Submarine with him, if it was that easy?

I'd happily contribute for a crowdfund pay for him to get back there and dive into the area they found the kids in with no gear!!

I agree completely.

Unless he can fabricate a fantastically brilliant excuse, he's likely to become another Kalanick.

His tweets also claim the kids swum in there which contradicts statements from the rescue team. Apparently none of the kids could swim! As a previous poster has mentioned it is pretty disgusting to overlook the fact that someone died trying to save these kids which highlighted the gravity of the situation.

The bloke is clearly an egomaniac. Hopefully this will take him down a peg.

at this point though do we separate muskrat the from Musk the inventor whose ideas are (in the main!) very worthy and worth following up on?
