Turning up with no notes and arguing the toss is just wasting the Court's time IMO. Shame she can't be charged with that too.

the cell phone stuff seems to be immaterial as the prosecution wasnt for the NIP
The only piece that seemed to have some legs was this
'judge at original trial excluded part of police investigator's note saying that she had signed the Notice of Intended Prosecution.'
Probably excluded as her bruv had fezed up to signing it

'This wasn't excluded at retrial'
assumes the Jury knew by the retrial that her bruv had the conviction
so did she say she'd signed it when she hadnt?

When's Panodrama going to cover it bounce

Now that it looks like a recall petition can be triggered, what is the public feeling in the area towards her? I'll hazard a gess that both Con & Lab voters will want to see her gone, but will voter apathy take over?

How does a recall petition actually work - online form, or door to door, turn up at the town hall, or what?

It will be interesting to find out, as there is no mechanism to prove you have the right-to-vote online.

Also, a visit to the town hall does not necessarily prove that you have the right to vote, even with ID and proof of address.

She is/was my MP, and from what I've heard locally, she is viewed with spectacular contempt. Apparently, She has been getting copious online abuse, but from what I Hear people say, I'd certainly advise to stay out of public eye , as I would not be at all surprised if somebody did not give her violence. She truly is viewed in some quarters with intense loathing, bordering on hatred in the true sense of the word.

I've been reading about how the petition works, and it is financed by central government. She really has cost the country a huge amount of money for very little return, Mp salary & expenses, the two trials, prison, the appeal, and now a recall petition.

If she hadn't screwed it all up already, I'd suggest a career as a socialist MP would be ideal....

Do recalled MPs still get their golden handshake and pension?

They write to every voter telling them what to do and where

They then provide registration stations all around the polling district open 9-5

The stations are open for six weeks.

This is going to cost (central government) a fortune

Good value for money I say.

Like paying for insect repellent to rid yourself of a leech.

Should be billed to Ms Onasanya, for not doing the decent thing and standing down.

But no not only does she want to keep scrounging her salary for the next eight weeks or so but now she wants to force central government to spend £100,000s to procedurally get rid of her. What an odious individual.

She was only an MP for 5 minutes so presumably it's 10/10ths of fk all

No surprise that this case didn't get beyond an application for permission to appeal. The hearing today was not an appeal hearing.

What was the costs award - for the trial proceedings?

A number of posters have asked what the phone evidence was
Did it show the phone just pinging the mast, or was there a conversation/ text message?
How far away is she normaly from those masts - have they picked up her phone at other times?
Was the phone left in the car while her Bruv was driving?

However it seems to have been irrelevant for the case of PCoJ, so not sure whey they coming back to it
