That has cheered me right up

Could both she and her brother (who pleaded guilty on three counts at a previous hearing) be sent to prison? Please let that happen.

A blog references Lord Denning on verdicts:

i suppose her Micra could be a self driving prototype that Nissan have lent her?
Interesting - it says it must have been making a second visit to the village - ties in with it being bruv

We know from the speed camera image that the vehicle was travelling eastbound (e.g. approaching Thorney) when it was caught exceeding the speed limit at 10.03 pm, so the only obvious explanation - assuming the accuracy of Onasanya's story - is that it must have been making a second visit to the village in the space of a few hours.

I'm reading on twitter that it was a unanimous decision by the jury

Go to Jail. Do not pass go. redcard

I know we're only getting the reported parts as we weren't in court, but her stories seemed all over the place and no straight answers from what I could see.

ps looks like she's gearing up for a disabled badge, looking at her walking in that video

Right result indeed smash

Trying to get out of a minor speeding ticket (I know there us no such thing, think of the children) but the sheer arrogance of the woman and her made up constantly evolving story.

an you imagine what these trials cost the taxpayer. She had a QC, guaranteed paid for by legal aid. I didn't know she returned the NIP initially with a Russians name on it. When that lie was busted she used her brother.

I don't understand the mindset of anyone other than a toddler, who would try and evade a relatively trivial offence by committing a significantly more serious one. Deserves imprisonment, and there is precedence for it.

A pox on her.

Thank Christ for that, how on earth the first jury could not reach a verdict, is beyond me. From memory, Huhne pleaded guilty and got 6 months, surely she will get more than a year?
If in prison, she cannot represent her constituents, so will there be a by-election?

Excellent result!

British Justice system 1, lying, conniving, time wasting, should've known better solicitor and MP nil.

Yes it was. I kept wondering which way it would go, since the first trial failed to reach a verdict.

Glad to hear it was an unanimous decision to convict her.

Simple.

Arrogance.

The rules only apply to everybody else, don't ya know.

And possibly a bit thick.

she is suspended from the Party so yes, I would think so.
It boils my piss that this bh wasted so many resources, all over a £60 ticket.

I thought she would walk so it has restored by faith. I really did think with all the me too and minority whaling she would be 'too black to be guilty'

I note she played the 'I'm very sick' card too

She should resign immediately as an MP or - as it’s 2018 and nothing of principle seems to matter any more -if she’s imprisoned for any length of time, a recall petition can be run which I assume will be successful given it’s a marginal constituency

I suppose so. I'd rather hoped an MP wouldn't be quite that combination of dishonest, venal, arrogant and fking thick. A lot of boxes ticked.
