Well if the snivelling smug little st hadnt done a runner prior to his court case he could have given his version of events to a jury of peers who might have believed him.
instead he ran away after glassing someone in a hotel to try and hide and it has backfired.
he should grow a pair and accept that he made reckless mistakes which ultimately led to the death of someone.
He still has a wife in the UK as well so he has legged it from his relationship too so he can be a playboy in Georgia
the picture he has painted with his own actions is that of an uncaring, sociopath who has the funds to stick V's up to the law. The reference that he may not be safe in the UK is pretty vile. Safety concerns for a man who has glassed one person and killed another.instead he ran away after glassing someone in a hotel to try and hide and it has backfired.

I really can’t beleive this is headline news on the BBC, they’ve even got a reporter live from Georgia! There’s plenty of people on the run and criminals that are guilty of much worse crimes. There’s also more newsworthy stories out there...oh and Brexit!
Loads of people are likely clicking on the story which tells the BBC people are interested in it. BoRED S2upid said:
Feels safer there than back home? I imagine he will soon be back in the dock pleading to come home as he is missing TV, PlayStation, books, running water, a toilet, food.
Ah, the tired old sub Alan Partridge level of uninformed xenophobic drivel that I have come to expect from Pistonheads. I have not visited Georgia and neither have you, and certainly neither of us has any accurate information or first hand knowledge of Georgian prison standards. If you pull your nose of the Daily Mail for a moment and look at a credible news source you might find that prison in this country is increasingly what the Tories believe it should be - extremely nasty and brutish with absolutely no attempt at education or rehabilitation, lots of illegal substances and very few G4S-funded screws around to prevent stairwell shankings. Mind you, Georgia is foreign innit? Near Russia or something? So it must be some kind of neo-gulag, because foreigners aren't as good as us, right?

Lawyer representing him here has received death threats - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/uk-47029302 .
Good to see the BBC trying to clarify the legal aid situation too and sad that the barrister feels he cannot accept payment for representing him.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make but it would help if you did your research properly.Shepherd fled to the former Soviet Republic (Stalin's homeland). The pic you posted is from the United States.

She was the one driving, she was the one who crashed. She wasn't forced to do this. They both took a daft risk and unfortunately she lost her life.
We only have his account of this, i.e. it was all her fault and she's not here to defend that.https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/8287379/jack-shepher...

I think we'll all agree this is several orders of magnitude worse than the UK, which is what I was pointing out before:

Well quite, thanks for pointing that out, which actually helps my point I think, here's one in the correct Georgia
