Exchange for us, tomorrow - gulp!

Complete next week!

Tonks, the house opposite us, on the lake, has sold (again)... Wonder if the original 'buyers' sorted some sort of issue as it was gone again within a couple of days of us talking about it?!

Far more reductions than new properties coming up in my local Rightmove search at the moment.

Good sized 3/4 bed houses that would have been up for £400-£425k in 2016 are hovering around £370k & not selling. The occasional dip into the £350's.

I think it's a good time to be a buyer.

What area are you in Dave ?
Just curious to see if this new downward trend is spreading further from the South.

Local planning still seems to be allowing big developments in various areas which can only add to the problem as new builds tend to offer incentives to buy.

Free smart car with every house purchased.

Then you can drive to the station, get your shoes shined, and get some stock tips from the shoe shine lad.

Personally I would be nervous being a buyer right now. But then I am an ultra bear and see the whole economy on a precipice.

I was planning on my first buy around Brexit but all the news now is around "How will the next recession start?", "Markets predict a 2018 contraction", "Are we ready for the next recession?" & "How stocked are your cupboards?" hehe

There is always the train of thought that when everyone gets bearish that's the time to buy....

Love how Brexit has gone from 'we are all going to be way better off' to 'we probably wont have to eat rats we find on the streets; hehe

Personally, I wouldnt do any buying or selling in the run up to March next year.

My flat is coming off the market until next Spring. I've had enough of the no-shows and tyre-kickers this year. And the agent. There must be a school for smarmy twits that churns them out.

Anyway, I'm seriously considering a cheap online agent when I re-enter the fray. This lot https://doorsteps.co.uk/index.php list from £99.

In all likelihood I'll be selling without a chain so that removes a world of complication. I'd prefer to write my own description, I have an EPC and floorplan, and I can take my own photos. The only thing that might stop me next year is the time available.

I can relate to the tyre kicking brigade, we had them all.

The thing i found most frustrating was the viewers that either hadn't sold themselves or didnt even have their house on the mkt....whats the point !

This is me.

Some people only want to move to a house they have seen come up. Ive only ever done that. Invariably though I have seen houses in real life I didnt think were worth moving for. Just the way it is. Chicken or Egg - put yours on in the hope something comes up (could be months or years), or see somethign you like then chuck yours on and hope for a quick sale. I have always been the latter.

If its fallen into place and not wasted any ones time then fair enough.

I ended up turning viewings down when i heard their position probably as we'd been so messed about before by tyre kickers
