The thread title says it all. As soon as I saw the article and the location I jumped to a conclusion. It may be the wrong conclusion but I will be surprised if at least 2/4 and probably all four don't have previous driving and drug convictions.

What is bad about this thread is that it seems to focus too much on the ethnicity of the tts. The crash in Leeds in which two minors died was all White British. I seem to remember there was a bad one in Wales a year or two ago, all white Welsh. They're been a couple of stupid fatal wrecks in London where the drivers were Black British.

Fully- loaded cars driven by young men who greatly over-estimate their talent at the wheel seems to be the main issue.

Don't know what the solution is but the police but must allowed to use their judgement when to pursue and if the dumber echelons of society, whatever their ethnicity, get killed by their own stupidity then sorry for their families and into the first round of Darwin Awards for the year.

So how does it work for all these virgins in heaven then for these peeps. Does driver have to forgo his for his driving errors and they get allocated to the others in the car? They've already got wood so they're all ready for the experience.

Do I sound bitter?? Sisters disabilities from 15 years ago are from being hit by a 6 up Honda Civic failing to stay on the Leeds Bratford ring road at Horsforth. I'll let you guess the ethnic background..........

....but what is it with Bratford? I grew up for a while in Sheffield, in the depression during the Miners strike and closure of the steelworks. One point my Dad was "parachuted" into a school that was 93% ethnic minorities - myself and my sister went there for a while when my Mum was in hospital and we couldn't attend our own white middle class school (1,500 pupils in the Grammar, 1 black lad). That was the best of my schoolyears, the kids were so well behaved, were thankful to be getting an education better than their previous generations and there was no neaking, bulling or judgement, everyone just got on - even if there were some language difficulties - I never expected as a teen to learn Urdu! And proper Bangladeshi curries for lunch every day!

Guess these days it is instant gratification in what you can prove - hey look how fast I can outrun this copper, rather than steadily getting on with your life and house, family, pension, retrospective years, off to the Sky...........

Perhaps most importantly, how's the tree?

Poor thing, sat there minding its own business, and it gets damn near completely ring-barked by a bunch of idiots, intent on dragging it into their own suicide pact, without it getting any choice.
Hope the tree makes it, looks in a bad way.
.....I fear there is worse to come for the tree. It will likely now suffer the added indignity of being turned into a roadside shrine - unless someone gets in there quick with a chain saw to put it out of its misery.....

The pseudo-macho 'who can care the least and be most flippant' would soon evaporate if those people had to go to the scene or see the wider impact of four deaths.

I'd think there'd be a lot more cars if you're alluding to terrorism or similar.

It's probably a standard unmarked traffic / specialist unit vehicle that saw the vehicle being driven in a manner worthy of a stop. It's unlikely to be pre-planned if there's just one police vehicle.

Stop making sense.

You’ll bring this thread into disrepute.

I can see where you're coming from with that statement but if - and it's a big if at this stage because we don't know the full facts - the occupants were involved in criminality/ trying to evade police and were, to an extent, the authors of their own demise, then my sympathy would be limited.

I would have much more sympathy for the poor bugger/ poor bugger's family who could have been involved as an innocent party (as is often the case).

Best to let the full facts come out before making any judgements though.

Perfect. I'm sure none of your friends or family have been ever known to speed on a public road, or do anything whatsoever to put another person at risk. And if they did, or ever do, then I hope they die.

Am I doing this right?
there's a difference between speeding and going so fast in a residential area that your car ends up like a pancake.

Well said. There seems to be a competition for the most crass and cringe inducing comment here - fuelled no doubt by the ethnicity of those that died.

I wonder where they draw the line - British-Pakistani drops crisp packet and is immediately mown down by passing bus - “the scum had had it coming to him!!” crow the PH lynch mob.
oh do fk off you self-righteous prick. I was waiting for someone to come out with the race card and there it is. If it had been some bunch of twunts from Basildon there'd have been the same reaction

Fun times for the officers who could be subject to investigations / various court proceedings for years.
Time those fleeing the police were made legally responsible for everything that happens during the chase. I thought the government were making noises about it recently?

You're just devaluing the word 'tragedy'.

The Manchester Arena bombing was a tragedy. This was an instance of certainly one, most likely four idiots who gambled with their lives and lost.

If they don't care, why should I? Why should anyone?

I sympathise with the family, I don't sympathise with the occupants.
I'm not devaluing the word, I'm really not. If someone takes a chance in a vehicle, be they a driver or a passenger, and it costs them their lives, that is tragic. Recently, near here, a young lad who'd been drinking cider and smoking cannabis lost control and smashed his car into a wall in Lyndhurst, killing two teenage passengers. So, he was a criminal. He survived, the two female passengers didn't.
In the absence of facts about the Bradford incident, how can PH posters dismiss the Bradford deaths as "good riddance to scumbags" so lightly? Or do you say "good riddance" to Lily Butterfield-Godwin and Abbey Rogers too?
Of course, if posters on here were simply racist keyboard warriors that were hard of thinking, I'd have my answer. Couldn't be that though, surely?
Again, have some humanity people.

More fool them for getting in a fast car with a pissed-up stoner in the first place.

The crash was in December 2014. He'd got through five pints of cider in the pub one of 'em worked at, where they'd all been for the night, had a "high level" of cannabis, and was doing gawd knows what speed in an RX8 with four people in it at midnight. With the headlights off. In a 30mph one-way two-lane residential road.
