Police said a 44-year-old man had been arrested under the malicious communications act.
Derbyshire Police said: "A 44-year-old man has been arrested under the malicious communications act in connection with social media posts during the aftermath of the recent fatal collision in Chellaston.
"The arrest has been made after photographs posted on Facebook on the evening of Monday, August 20 caused distress to members of the public."
Police said four photographs were posted but the offence officers are investigating relates to one of them.
The arrested man has been released while investigations continue.
Why have they devoted so many words to such a comparatively trivial issue? Has the 'malicious communications act' ever been used for a good reason? It feels as though every time I read those three words, you can be sure that nonsense will follow.Derbyshire Police said: "A 44-year-old man has been arrested under the malicious communications act in connection with social media posts during the aftermath of the recent fatal collision in Chellaston.

You seem to be calling lot of people idiots, who ostensibly come across as more intelligent than you. Just an observation. Maybe the rest of us are idiots, but that’s not how it looks, and doesn’t help on the rare occasions you make valid points.
You can’t ostensibly come across as something.Ostensibly means apparently or seemingly. You can either ostensibly be something, or you can come across as something.
I know that you like to words that you don’t really understand to try to look educated, but you keep, getting it wrong, giving the opposite impression.
Did you study in Durham?

Do you know the colour of the guys in Romford? I don’t. Sounds like a poor link to nodding.
They've got two for it now, anyway. "Attempted murder".https://news.sky.com/story/two-arrested-on-suspici...
