It seems the great leader has issued an edict that no Labour MP is to engage in any discussion with the Govt re Brexit

Didn’t seem to go down to well with Chuka when sky asked him about it

Moving towards calling for a 2nd referendum?

Could that get sufficient cross party support next week?

According to t'internet, Corbyn's net worth is around £3 million, and Bragg's is £3.5 million.
I wonder if McDonell would secretly love to get his sticky paws on his fellow comrade's millions, all in the name of fairness of course...
I doubt he's quite as jealous/envious/hateful as some of the posters on here regarding someone else's cash.

It's the hypocricy I'm calling out, they both hate 'the rich' and want to take other people's wealth away despite being rich themselves, but I'm guessing you knew what I meant.

No, this can't be true, I keep hearing that Corbyn is all about opening dialogue with the enemy...

fk the wealthy. The country will be accidental damage.
Translation;
I have neither the intellect, nor the nous, to make a better life for myself and my family, but I will cheerfully stand on the sidelines, hurling abuse, while other malcontents throw stones at the windows of those who did okay by possessing some intellect and nous, and if the country gets damaged in the process, I’ll shrug, and smirk “So what?” to my posse in Wetherspoons.
What on earth are you wibbling on about?

Corbyn doesn't want to fk the country. Why would he want to do that? He and his fellow travellers do want to fk the wealthy, and in attempting to do the latter he is likely to do the former.
I didn’t say that HE did, although I’m of the opinion that if he managed to take the reins, that would almost certainly be the result, and it seems that you realise it too.
Initially, I was quoting, and paraphrasing you, you’re the one who said “F**k the wealthy. The country will be accidental damage.”

I don't think you can say he hates the rich.
You can want to create a better system a fairer system and you can be against people who make money via scams and tax schemes etc etc.

The problem is that if you are 'poor' and you talk of wanting a better system you get called bitter, if you are 'rich' and want a better system for all you are called a hypocrite.
Essentially what you are asking for is that once you make a certain crust you have to become a st bag.
You don't....

Yeah, in response to someone else saying that Corbyn's agenda was to get power and fk the country. I said it was to fk the wealthy and they'd fk the country by accident. I didn't suggest that either was a good idea.

Yep. Me too.

I'd probably be considered reasonably well off. I’ve made my own way, paid all my taxes, and I'm quite happy with my lot. I really wouldn't want to be seriously wealthy, and I don't envy anyone, but I do loathe the hypocrisy of rich socialists.

I once worked with a bloke who was our trade union rep. He dressed like Millie Tant from Viz - shiny Doc Martens, straight cut Levis with outside turn-ups, donkey jacket, Palestinian-style scarf, and beret. He was always preaching about the oppressed masses, and even advocated armed struggle against the ruling classes. Turned out that he was privately educated, that his father was a rich lawyer, and that he lived in an enormous gated house.

I doubt either of them hate the rich. They just see the financial settlement in a slightly more progressive way. That doesn't make them hypocrites. Same for less well-off people who vote tory - they are not traitors to the working class etc, just people who hold a certain philosophical/political point of view.

Not a Labout supporter, btw, just fed up reading this tribal nonsense.

If that IS the case, then I over reacted, and I owe you an apology.
I didn’t see the post that you responded to, I haven’t followed every post on this thread, I am mildly concerned about Corbyn, but very concerned about McDonnell, I came to view this thread very late, in the wake of the Leaving the EU vote which Mrs. May lost.
I hope that you can understand that just seeing, “F**k the wealthy. The country will be accidental damage”, WITHOUT realising that you had posted it in response to another poster, led me to respond as I did.
I repeat, I’m sorry that I castigated you, without realising what had gone before.

I understand your points ape (that doesn't happen very often wink ) but I honestly think Corbyn actually loathes 'the rich', I think it's a bitterness that goes deep within him, for whatever reason. I've encountered it before with old family friends who were from well of backgrounds, were militant socialists who can't stand the idea of anyone else having more wealth (or just as often 'better luck') than them. It's a bit odd when you step back and try to look at it objectively. On paper I should be raging left winger who follows the socialist path but despite coming from a working class background, having done a traditionally working class job most of my adult life and belonging to a trade union which used to be one of the most militant on the planet, I'm not, I'm much more to the centre overall.

I'd say my point about the hypocrisy still stands, in Corbyn's case certainly, he contradicts himself too often for me to think otherwise.

No worries, nuance is easily lost in text.

Sruggling to think of any Socialist leader or prophet of the people that had made his/her pile without pulling the ladder up behind them. And, of course, there are many that inherit what most would think of as a fortune. Even some in HoC/HoL now. Wouldn't necessarily call them hypocrites though, more like patronising and cynical. They are certainly a mile away from horny-handed.

Not a Labour supporter either, not anymore anyway but I don't see it as tribal nonsense. I know it's a cliché, especially on here and I dare say you'll differ, but the politics of envy rings true in this case. I work alongside grown men who spout the 'hate the rich' stuff constantly, it's really quite sad and pointless.

It's his best next step to try and get power.

In the aftermath of a no deal brexit, regardless of the true impact, they'll spin anything and everything in to a negative because of no deal brexit, then they'll do another vote of no confidence.

He doesn't care at all about this country or getting brexit sorted, he just cares about power and becoming prime minister.

The more they steer clear of discussions, the less responsibility they think they have. The reality is, they have nothing and bring nothing to the table.

I would hope, given most of the non Momentum selected MPs probably dislike him, that they would have the decency to ignore him and will try and contribute.
