It was said much earlier in this thread - about TV leader debates.

There is no point.

We have a Remainer pretending to be a Leaver debating a Leaver pretending to be a Remainer.
It's very Switfian
biggrin Hilarious - what a fustercluck indeed.
Who was the Woman MP, Labour I think, who described Brexit as a ClusterShambles? I quite liked that, more polite, but everyone just knew what she wanted to say!!

So our great leader-in-waiting has published his tax return. For someone who earns >£130,000 in a year, presumably doesn't have a mortgage to pay, clearly doesn't spend much on clothes and gets most of his travel paid for by us nice taxpayers, how the flying fcensored does he only manage to earn £1 in interest in the year??? And no, he's not giving it all away to charity 'cos that would be shown on the return, so I can only see two conclusions to be drawn, either:
a) He's utterly incompetent financially and can't even sort out an ISA for his spare cash; or
b) He's quite happy for those barsteward capitalist banks to use his money to make their filthy profits without giving him a penny (Ok, a Pound) in return

Answers on a postcard to J Corbyn, Labour Party HQ . . .

It's not that he's got a Bank of the Labour party savings account is it?

Well, if he does put money into an ISA then that is not shown on your tax return. And any interest on said ISA is also not declared on his tax return.

That's rather the point of an ISA - they are a tax free savings vehicle and hence you do not record them on your tax return.

OK, but ISA's are pretty rubbish these days - you can get better rates outside an ISA and with no tax on the first grand of interest I'm not sure why anyone bothers any more.

Thought you still had to declare them though, my bad getmecoat

It all depends on the type of ISA. If it's a cash only ISA, then yes, rates are terrible, you might as well not bother. But you can have a stocks and shares ISA; returns can be much higher, or equally you can lose money.

The Venezuela fund is hurting his return signficantly I imagine.

But you can only put a limited amount into an ISA each year......

Let's face it, he's spending it on male grooming products and fancy lunches for Diane, in a vain attempt to counter the threat of techiedave winning her favour.

I don’t follow this thread religiously, but dip a toe in once in a while, and am encouraged that there are a whole slew of posters, who, like me, think that Corbyn would be worse for this country than Nicolás Maduro is for Venezuela.
My heart is warmed, the thought that I’m not alone in seeing Corbyn as further to the left than Karl Marx lifts my spirits.
Then I think of the millions who are patiently waiting for the opportunity to put an X against Labour in any election, local or General, even if the candidate’s name is Fido the dog, or Bubbles the chimpanzee, and gradually my mood sours.
Please God that Theresa pulls the rabbit out of the hat, and M. Barnier reluctantly relaxes his attitude toward U.K., and the Great British Public envisage beer at give away prices again, without rubbing shoulders with Poles at the bar.
Although personally, all the Poles I know are nice people, welcome in my home anytime.
Cue someone from Peterborough, saying, “You wouldn’t say that if you lived here.”

He had the Sinn fein leader fawning over him on the BBC this morning which should be enough for most people to question his suitability for any high office in this Country

Yes indeed.

That's one thing I can't really understand with your ultra left-wing socialist types like Jezza. He still wants a reasonable house, a good salary and a decent pension; so everything he despises he actually wants in his life.

Not to defend him, but I think he would argue that everyone should have a "reasonable house, a good salary and a decent pension". I would say, though, that his house, salary and pension go somewhat beyond reasonable, good and decent.

Shameless copy from the comments section in the DM

I told Corbyn supporters that I earned £140K a year...and they called me one of the few and sneered at me....

I told them I had a multi-million pound pension pot and they called me one of the few...and sneered at me.

I told them that I spent my childhood in a seven bedroomed house and went to a private school...they called me one of the few...and sneered at me.

When I told them I was over 40 they called me an old man who was the past.......

When I told them I was Jeremy Corbyn (70 in a few weeks) they said I was the new hope, represented the few and was one of the many and that they would all vote for me

But that's socialist leaders in a nutshell, they inflict socialism on others not live by it themselves.

The likes of Derek Hatton (militant Trotskyist and propery developer), Ramsay MacDonald and Ceaușescu loved the high life and Hugo Chavez's daughter is apparently worth $4 billion, (apparently Ho Chi Min did live a very humble life, so the odd one may be a nutter but is at least a "principled" nutter).

This is what I have come to understand in later life. You cannot fight Human Nature. At least not for long.
People like money and shiny things.
