The University of the Holloway Road wasn't a university when he was there...it was a poly and notably not a good one (except arguably for its architecture school).

You really don't get it, do you? They'll be first against the wall when the glorious day comes, comrade.
There wont be any leaders, everyone is equal.
Oh silly me, McDonald's will run each branch as workers' cooperatives.

The moronic simplicity of that is mind-blowing. All profits should go to workers. Let’s see how well that works out when the company wants to raise funds and/or engage in capital spending.
Also what they are missing is that McD's is mostly a franchise operation. The staff don't work for McD's, they work for the franchise owner.

If he was in that college in 1968 it was Northern Polytechnic not a university. To paraphrase a minor comedian whose name I forget, "I know, 'cos I was there!"

Actually I was in a sister college on the site: National College of Rubber Technology

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

£15 an hour? Wonder if that gets through if they need any nightshift workers, I'll volunteer.

Meanwhile back in the real world, they'll automate the cooking process even more, and run with a skeleton crew, probably worked to within an inch of their sanity.

I can just imagine the news reports now "Outrage as hundreds of thousands of McD employees sacked after thousands of franchises swap to automation after £15 wage deemed more expensive than machines!!!!....................... Jeremy Corbyn said to be shocked at the outcome and says he'll go after the McD's fat cats................. Millions now unemployed after McD's leaves the UK after angry protests over its push for automation, says the protestors are modern day Luddites.................. Stay tuned for more"

Why are momentum still backing Corbyn? He’s done so much damage to the party’s election chances.

There must come a point when they realise they’re not going to get elected with this hapless idiot in charge.

It was Max Boyce's catch phrase, my Grandad was the recording engineer on some of his live gigs wink

In other news, I have a mouse at large in my garage, I've named him Corbyn as he's spineless, looks a bit scruffy and has a vacant expression when put on the spot....

This is the world we have created where we now believe you are poor only because of others and the way to.solve it is to punish others, and then scream and complain when they choose to no longer engage.

High minimum wage, IR35, green taxes , all contribute to firms looking to cut workers which in turn leads to lower revenue.

When your next Amazon order comes in a electric self driving van from a fully automated ware house you know what will be in the box....a shotgun to defend your home from the baying mob who can't find work any more.

I’m not sure Momentum are (yet) interested in winning the election. They want to conquer the party first, and then think about power later.

Still plenty of Blairites and suspected Blairites to depose. First things first.

Yeah, once Momentum's Night of the Long Knives campaign is complete and they've purged everyone they need to purge, and they've fully co-opted Labour, I think they'll try a credible push for power, which will probably involve a new leader.

Well if McDonalds are FORCED (as they surely would be by Corbyn!) to pay £15 to their staff I predict faster automation

Will mean less staff.

But hey, Labour will continue to give you loads of free st anyway. Those on £13/hour can pay for it. fk the country! rolleyes

100% this - an not just in McDonlads, Costa (you get it in petrol stations now), in fact all chains that serve pre defined food products, and how long will it be before a machine flips burgers an makes the fries.....I suspect not long at all. Supermarket more like warehouses with automated shelf stacking machines.

Go to a Decathlon now put stuff in the basket everything has a RIFID chip they do not even scan it now. Thats another job gone. The Labour party but in fact all MPs want to pay low skilled people more but don't want to worry about how to pay for it.

Inflation - a Big Mac and Fries will be £10, Automation A Big MAc an Fries is orderd via CSPO and made by R2D2 - result same revenue for McDonalds lower employee count lower tax into the economy.....but its all about fairness right...its crazy.

I recall 20 years ago someone asking me when I began working did people now work less because of computers the answer was no, I think now we are at the point where we don't need people to pperate many computers. Example 5 years ago go to a web sit chat to a person via messengerm, today AA websit chat to a bot....same result for the customer but someone no longer has a job.

AA guy comes out today (a person) I ask him do you see many issues with electric cars he says no only flat tyers. So 10 years forward then what does he have a job too.

Plus the service is much better from the machine. It's much easier to explain what you want.
