Took a while to come up with that excuse. Not that they could possibly come up with anything else. The “he started it” is the only possible route they could go to “justify” a man being killed in the consulate.

The reasoning behind the dismembering should be interesting..

According to Sky News, the Saudis have said that Khashoggi was killed in a fight at the consulate and 18 people have been arrested. I'm guessing that any of those actually involved won't be among the 18 arrested.

So presumably since it was a fight they will now produce the body ....

Silly Khashoggi. Went and brought an iwatch to a bone saw and acid bath fight.

Turkey, time to reveal your hand.

Sounds legit....

How is it that he was killed in a fight...and left the embassy?

Well if that's the best they can come up with they don't possess a brain cell.
I'm sure they'll be returning the body to the family shortly.....
No wait .... it ended up in many pieces during the fight.

We've disposed of it for you to spare your grief.
Yeah right.

Guess the Saudis are now thinking how they can explain away the chopping up, dissolving in acid bath ‘breaking bad style’ and flushing the contents away somewhere.

“Nothing to see here” - well not now anyway

Maybe the ceiling Fan chopped him up.

There’s always a ceiling fan in these 3rd world consular buildings.

I think it’s a credible explanation !!

Was this dude really just a journalist?

His father was one of the shadiest arms dealers in the World.

I suspect he was involved in all sorts of unsavoury stuff.

And why do we care?

Intelligence services no doubt are involved in this kind of thing every day. The Saudis cleaning house is really nobody else's concern but theirs.

This is just politics at work. Will be interesting to see the outcome though.

It's been mislaid somewhere, don't worry they are checking the lost property departments of major Istanbul buildings as we speak.

Doubt there is anything to produce except for some acidic human goop slung down a drain somewhere

I can never understand the "everybody is bad so we can't object to bad things" argument.

What a dim and dismal view of humanity.
