Off with their heads.....

“Saudi Arabia’s top prosecutor has recommended the death penalty for five suspects charged with ordering and carrying out the killing of Saudi writer Jamal Khashoggi.

Saudi Al-Mojeb told journalists in a rare press conference in Riyadh on Thursday that Mr Khashoggi’s killers had set in motion plans for the killing on September 29, three days before he was killed inside the kingdom’s consulate in Istanbul.”

How convenient. Who will do MBS's bidding next time he wants someone dead?

He'll probably just ask his henchmen if they want their families to live.

It probably won't actually be the people that flew over to Turkey that get their heads removed, it will be five poor randoms that MBS doesn't like for other reasons ...

The international community should be insisting the supposed perpetrators be handed over to Turkey for a proper investigation and some sort of actual trial, rather than just be offed in Saudi.

No idea if they're genuine but 'Al Sura' has published some very gruesome images of the aftermath apparently leaked by Turkish officials.

Not sure if I read anywhere mention of Khashoggi’s famous uncle - Adnan, the original Lord of War. Sold enough guns to be worth $5bn at his height and have Richard Perle on speed-dial.

Also sold his yacht, Nabila, seen in ‘Never Say Never Again’, to....Donald Trump.

Quite the family, the Khashoggis. More to it, than some random journalist who’s a crown prince arse thorn.

Will be interested to see how US officials deal with or reengage with Saudi when Trump is out. Tensions run high.

I find it strange that the CIA has more leaks than a sieve. For a supposedly top secret organisation they certainly leak a lot to newspapers.

The problem here is Trump is saying out loud once again, what other presidents would have done. None of the past presidents would have tried to punish SA in anyway as jobs and investments would always be more important than one mans life, sad though that is.

This will blow over and to be honest of this wasn't a journalist, it would already have been forgotten by the press.

SA is a medieval set up and we can expect no better from them I fear.

I am sure Trump thinks that this chap's killing was perfectly fine. Yesterday, he claimed that the Saudis would consider him "an enemy of the people" - which is his own favourite description for journalists. In different circumstances I am 100% sure that Trump would be applying the same techniques to American pain in the neck reporters.

If 1,000% sure made sense - that's what I would have said. Trump is a despot in the making. He's only being restrained by the institutions he despises - and is doing his best to undermine.

Anyone who refuses to see this is either equally despotic or wilfully blind.

I doubt he'd torture and kill them but I'm sure he'd like to jail those for fake news

He is operating in an environment where the institutions of a functioning democracy restrain him. He hates that restraint and only God knows how he would behave if he managed to stifle or even abolish those restraints. He is working on doing just that but I expect (or even pray) he will run out of time before he achieves his goal.
