Order/inventory managment

Looking for some recommendations on software, preferably not something too costly.

Currently run an eBay store & website (Shopify).

Inventory is currently updated manually across both twice a day - its a pain but manageable right now.

Next year I will be selling to customers in person at events, so will need something that allows me to input the order with the parts purchased, which will then update stock levels on both the website and eBay - it will also stop me selling parts that have sold out online during the day.

Can anyone think of something that'd be up to the job?

There are a few Shopify apps that integrate and sync with eBay.

Linnworks - look around but this is the best generic solution. Not as ££ as you might think.
Also use Shopify POS for your physical sales, keeps it really neat.

We use Linnworks and unfortunately I wouldn't recommend it for face-to-face or phone orders, the UI is very unintuitive and it takes an age to load, input, and update data, because of this I use an entirely different system for these orders and manually update the stock levels, it is in fact quicker doing it this way! I have spoke to the guys at Linnworks and tbh they don't think there is anything wrong with it and have no plans to change. As soon as something better comes out I will be changing.

Don't get me wrong, Linnworks is the best I have found yet but as we process many phone orders per day it can become extremely frustrating.


I would recommend having a look at Trade Gecko, it is by far the quickest system I have used for taking orders, it also integrates with websites etc.

I would not recommend them at all, long story that I'm not going into here, suffice to say it was a costly mistake.

Have a look at OrderWise, based in Lincoln and a superb piece of software, might fall into costly for what you need though.

Thanks chaps.

Decided to go with Shopify POS for the physical stuff, looks perfect for what I need and is so easy to use - within minutes of downloading the app I had all the products synced and a test order put though. Big benefit is being able to use it with the iPad or phone too, so no lugging the laptop around.

So just need something that’ll update inventory between eBay and shopify. I’ve tried a few times to get to grips with Linnworks but just cannot click with it, it feels clunky and out of date and despite clicking on every menu I still cannot get listings imported into it!

Look in the Shopify App Store, some new eBay feeders announced last month.
