You do realise it is printed in China - not part of your beloved EU.

Yes!! - Buying stuff in from China and everywhere else is a piece of piss. You just proved it smile

No second Referendum as Team Leave know around half of the people that did vote Leave will be dead by now.

Well, it looks like it had 3 places to land. 33% of them were right at the time. 66% of them were ignored. Maybe it will land somewhere else soon?

They can rest easy in the knowledge that their actions will haunt you forever.

Hey, that's the Huey on top the Presidential Palace in Saigon, if I'm not mistaken? I see it has been repainted since I was there.
I guess all the other places have been given a makeover too?

Of course, trade with China for sept 2018. If only the EU would let us export more to China.

Exports: £2.1bn

Imports: £4.0bn

You are absolutely correct

It's a bloody interesting place been here nearly two weeks on holiday - never been here before so can't comment on any makeovers but it's a real mix of rank poverty and third world living alongside upmarket excess if you do the sort of holiday we do

I'm sorry to hear that you see rank poverty and third world living standards on your holiday. When I was working and living there back in the day, the good folk of Vietnam were poor by our standards but had a can-do attitude that would put us to shame. Difficult to fully see through the comparison of rich and poor in two weeks of course.

Not really, you can see all that here in the EU right on on your doorstepsmile. You could, for example, combine a trip to the South of Italy or rural Greece with a Rhine cruise.

Probably not the thread for it but I will reply

You probably don't realise or misunderstood my comment - we enjoy getting a bit gritty in terms of holidays - we don't do beach or gated resorts with pool side bars. We do city life and we like to see it all - good and bad. However we are way past backpacking age biggrin

So far we have done over 90 miles in 11 days all on foot - We did 11 miles today from District 1 through 4, 6 and 7 all on foot that took us through the most expensive shopping district through to tin shacks on muddy creaks with no sanitation and back to a brand new shopping centre and a huge public park - we did however take a taxi back tonight as some of the route we took wasn't good for walking at night (not unsafe just poor or limited footpaths)

They are lovely good people but if you only do the sights and not the real world then you go away with an unbalanced view - walk round District one at 1am in the morning and you will also see how the recycling process works too.

It's been a fantastic holiday and good experience would recommend Vietnam (well Ho Chi Minh City) to anyone - but we are always honest about what you can find when you go off the well trod tourist routes

Edited to add these are a few streets away from a very nice new shopping mall and park (oh and Anh Sao Bridge which was why we went there rather than shopping)

People's Vote march goes ahead with 700,000 people and no significant incidents.

When Brextremists try the same, the best footage they can find of their day out is them stopping an ambulance from attending an emergency call.

That'll show those elites!

Have the protesters got Hi-Vis vests on? It must be Brexiteers according to his alter ego laugh

I thought Budgie spent his life in kiddies toy shops.

Your life must be pretty empty. You seem to be on this forum every hour of the day spouting off about Brexit.

Of course, the response to bad Brexit news isn't to address the issue - but attack the poster.

Predictable.
