India has also had a big explosion in consumption of westernised convenience foods. I bet that has nothing to do with a rise in the various health issues we all know junk food causes. The same thing has been happening all over Asia and the Middle East. Maybe not as much to do with vegetarianism as you think.
What do you think the 'convenience' foods are made of? I'll throw in a clue - it isn't red meat, either there or here. More sugar, flour, and seed oils.

As has been said multiple times over these threads. People getting ill because they have a poor diet that happens to be vegetarian isn’t proof that the vegetarian diet is inherently poor.

People get sick because they don’t eat well, it happens all over the world and the vast majority of people in developed countries get sick from eating the same food. Wouldn’t you say the problem is the mass production of homogenised bad food?

I’ll grant you that people in India aren’t getting sick from eating beef, they are getting sick from eating McDonalds and KFC chicken though.

All the Vegan lifestyle sales team are out today biggrin

At the end of the day, there are just too many people on the planet and that number is ever growing.

Trying to reduce the impact the people make is only a short term fix. As the numbers continue to grow the demands on the planet become higher and higher which even the Vegan lifestyle won’t be able to accommodate.

I’m sticking with my balanced diet, keep things for a long time and fix them when they break. Consume what I think is appropriate and try not to waste stuff (apart from a bit of petrol and rubber from time to time)

This is untrue if we all ate a vegan diet, at least in relation to our ability to feed the current population efficiently and healthily.

Oh, we can feed a lot more people. We just have to make sure that the land we occupy is only used to feed our own species. A small step towards the utopia of a suffering-free planet entirely occupied by humanity and soy.

I can only assume that you have not even read the title of the report, let alone the contents.

I'm told chickens will drop what they are doing for mince, but I've never had the opportunity to test this.

I should probably go try it on the ducks in the local pond...

I don’t know about mince, but if I’m in the garden digging, they follow me about like a pack of hounds and then there’s the inevitable bunfight for each and every worm.

Lots of videos on youTube of chickens killing and eating mice.

He goes looking for it?

What, down the shops himself?

Don't feed your cat cows milk or products please, it's really not good for them.

Cats are obligate carnivores and are biologically adapted really only to eat animal protein and fats. Not sure where dairy fits into that spectrum.

Pizza has a good chance of having garlic or onion on it as well, also very bad for cats. One of mines is always determined to eat garlic, we have to be very careful what we leave lying around.

Most cats are lactose intolerant.
