Vegan extremists
Discussion
Currently I’m reading The Vegetarian Myth. It’s a fascinating book, although some of it appears to be more about feminism than vegetarianism.
Worth a look for those interested. Obviously it’s not for vegans as I’m sure it’s all a pack of lies sponsored by big meat

Never heard of it... probably along the lines of the other rubbish referenced. I do know, however, that the science and research backs the assertions that animal agriculture is bad for the environment, cannot be sustained and that animal products are not needed, to live and thrive. But I suppose the UN, EU, research institutions, universities et al; are all part of a vegan conspiracy Worth a look for those interested. On the premise that methane is bad for the environment. And as to not sustainable - how long has animal agriculture been going on again - just to the nearest 1000s of years?Jinx said:

13,000 for using animals, 0.15 for modern version.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intensive_animal_far...
Just given up dairy products a fortnight ago. Feel much better. Placebo? Possibly, but I don't care. I feel better. Not a vegan, or even a true vegetarian as I eat shellfish occasionally and eggs from farm chickens. But have noticed since checking labels for dairy produce that it is undeniable that we eat a load of ste in our food...things in ingredients I have never heard of!!

A lot of people report the same; from feeling lighter / less bloated to the overall easing of digestion, etc. LDN said:

Except for the fact if you read the research not the newspaper reports it says no such thing.I can understand the frustrations felt by those who have suffered at the hands of vegan 'extremists', I see it as no different than religion, politics, sexuality etc...i accept that people may be different to me, but don't preach it and try to belittle my beliefs. You want acceptance, accept...seems simple. I do however see a constant belittling of beliefs on this thread and throughout society. I don't give a damn if you eat meat, I would rather you didn't, but ultimately it's about choice. Your choice. But I don't rant on about books, articles etc that attempt to belittle or undermine your choice? Live/let live... Have a banana, chill....

I think moving from a processed food diet to natural foods cooked from scratch would be a huge improvement for most people. A "Never eat anything your grandmother could not identify" sort of thing, though that should probably be great, great grandmother now.I think you should read Lierre Keith too though.
All the best on your journey.

Taking control over what I eat and thinking about where it comes from, rather than mindlessly feeding my face, is one of the best things I have ever done in my life.

Thanks man, happy to read anything pro or against, an open mind is essential for progress. I NEVER say I will never eat meat again because who knows ? As Bertrand Russell famously quipped when asked if he would die for his beliefs , 'oh no dear boy, I might change my mind'I think you should read Lierre Keith too though.
All the best on your journey.
