Once again questions for the police. Why are they just casually letting these tosspots disrupt the port operations, it's been going on at least 18 months apparently. The lorry runs over the plonker's bike, and it's only then that the old bill saunters over to do something about it, never mind all the people and cars blocking the roundabout beforehand?
As for the cycling gimp, "play stupid games, eventually win stupid prizes". Hope the haulage company's insurers end up recovering record amounts of money from the gimp.

Fame-hungry vegan goes full snowflake after Greggs accidentally give her a meat sausage roll instead of a plant one

"People can be allergic to pork and potentially die from such a stupid mistake."
Hmmm a quick google suggests there might be such a thing as a pork allergy (the medical profession seems unsure on this one), but even if it does exist it's insanely rare.VeganLoon said:
"It's my choice not to consume meat because it causes cancer. That choice has been taken away from me."
Well if your body is such a temple, why are you putting ANYTHING from Greggs in it. Does she not realise their pastry, whatever it's wrapped around, is basically lard and flour?VeganLoon said:
"I haven't had meat in two years," she added. "My belly started hurting and my heart started going crazy.

So if you know that then it sounds like accidentally eating meat has happened to you before, and you got over it then, so can probably get over it this time?"I was panicking because that only happens when I consume meat - this doesn't happen when I have other food.

I'm of the opinion that anyone who has a food allergy serious enough to kill them should probably prepare everything themselves at home from the raw ingredients. It's unfortunate that this person was given the wrong food item, but meanwhile on planet Earth mistakes happen, and if you know that the consequences of other people's mistakes may kill you then don't put your life in their hands in the first place. Expecting the rest of the world to micro-manage your own health is foolish, and dangerous.
This person could have just taken the sausage roll back, explained the mistake and gone about their day. But no, they have to have their voice heard by whining about it to anyone who will listen on the internet, like it's crime of the century to accidentally serve the wrong food to a VEGAN!! Probably suffering from depression and anxiety brought about by malnutrition

Risk of going OT but I was thinking the same. We keep hearing about these cases where people died from allergic reactions where restaurant staff gave them wrong information about ingredients. I don't know about anyone else, but if I had an allergy serious enough to kill me, I wouldn't be placing my life in the hands of minimum wage waiting staff whose first language isn't English. 230TE said:

Agreed - I have an allergy and whilst not quite that serious yet (I break out in hives all over and get quite ill) I tend to be very careful when eating anything pre-packaged. Even when eating out I will ask and err on the side of caution if need be and have something I know to be safe. Be responsible for your own health and especially what you put inside your body.230TE said:

My partner's boy has a serious nut allergy and a mild fish allergy. It's bad enough to carry an EpiPen and Piriton, and he's been occasionally hospitalised, but it's not at the sort of level where slight contamination or being in a room with nut dust is life threatening. He has a pretty normal lifestyle, we work around it. We're just all careful about where and what he eats. We put our life in the hands of the competence of strangers every time we drive down a sliproad, it's just a matter of making sensible and pragmatic risk assessments.
A business associate of mine is celiac, so he simply takes some gluten free bread with him when staying in a hotel. If they can't offer him gluten free food he politely asks if they would mind toasting it for him or making a sandwich, and they are always glad to do so, usually without any charge for the sandwich fillings which they provide.
It's that simple and he manages to get through life with having a meltdown every time it occurs

Exactly, the ‘dont put your life in the hands of strangers’ but, we do that everyday, it’s slightly akin to victims blaming too. Establishments need levels of service/hygiene/quality to adhere to, like all other aspects of life
You are of course right to an extent, but I I think it’s a bit different putting your trust in other people not to (for example) crash into you, than it is expecting them to know or care that a sausage roll might kill you.
