My current insurer Esure is demanding a tracker on my newly acquired vehicle if they are to insure it. They would give me two weeks to get it sorted but would not cover me for theft during that period, errr no.

I have three in total now.

I've been with Esure for years - this year they wanted £395 to insure me, an increase of £65 on last year even though I've gone from a Octavia 230 VRS to an old 2.0 Legacy.

Went to L&V and they have quoted £190! I would try them as a starter.

This thread was very good timing for me.

Just had the insurance renewal for both cars plus Euro breakdown renewal for the Porsche. Aviva's renewal price was pretty good and the Meerkats weren't able to beat it with any company that I would choose to insure with. Green Flag were expensive but I looked at their website and a new customer would be £35 cheaper for the same cover. This hasn't been a problem in the past as I just phone them and tell them that I'll pay the new customer price or take my business elsewhere and they give me the same price.

However - I had a look at LV+ multicar and I can get the same (actually slightly better) cover as Aviva plus Green Flag for the same price as my Aviva renewal! (Renewal prices were about £770, LV= want £650ish).

Thank you!

We switched from Admiral to the NFU (they don't just insure farmers!), the best thing is as that for the last three years the renewal price has been so good we haven't had to bother with the annual shoppping around.

NFU are the ones to beat.

The service puts all mainstream insurers including Chubb Hiscox Zurich and Mannings in the same second rate boat.

We have several newish Ferraris and Porsche GTs insured with them. Some on agreed value basis over new list price at no extra premium.

Cars obviously have tracker but they don't insist on it.
