Michael Cohen shared his false testimony with the White House before Cohen submitted it to Congress and it is possible Trump was aware at the time that Cohen would make false statements.

"Mr. Trump and the White House knew that Michael Cohen would be testifying falsely to Congress and did not tell him not to,"

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-12-12...

Dianne Feinstein on the AMI cooperation with SDNY: "Evidence continues to build that President Trump directed a violation of campaign finance law to affect the presidential election. These are serious, criminal allegations and they demand further scrutiny from Congress."

Cohens testimony will be collaborated by David Pecker and Allen Weisselberg, both cooperating witnesses in the SDNY investigation

The AMI nonprosecution deal included a specific agreement that neither the SDNY prosecutors nor the media company would disclose it publicly until after the midterm elections. Still trying to protect trump?

We in the west are still working on 19th century concepts of press barons and two party democracy however anyone thinking democracy can't evolve past this in to a new, better educated and more nuanced format is in for a shock.

Argentinian youth are so pissed with the low quality of their politicians that some very interesting experiments in electronic democracy have been designed to remove the democratic mandate from corrupt politicians. Sooner or later one of these systems is going to work.
I've been banging this drum on PH for some time, along with the subject discussed in your earlier post, but nobody seems to see this coming at all let alone see it as an inevitable consequence of AI. The introduction of pure democracy based on the replacement of the ancient two-party elite by an electronic system that invests power in the hands of the citizen must surely come along at some point.
1) Most "AI" as it's touted today is basically pattern matching and inference trained on huge data sets - I've been following the field for 40 years, and have yet to see anything I'd call a "breakthrough" since Neutral Nets back in the 80's

2) There are various ways of mitigating the two-party dominance - basically anything other than "first-past-the-post" is a big improvement.

Since the powers that be in the UK and US are vehemently opposed to any such change, and successfully campaigned against it in the UK, I fail to see what "AI" will change.

And no, blockchain isn't a magical solution either.
The recent arrival of People Analytics in the workplace is an early-warning harbinger of what is to come.

To clarify, she's a member of the Kansas Senate, rather than a United States Senator for Kansas.

Why would the party in charge change the system that put them in charge?
It will change without them, or anyone, noticing it. Change happens over time.

Trump Vs HC

ETA; to bring a bit of light heartedness and also to think;

A) it is odd seeing this in 2018
B) what we ‘knew’ then barely scratched the surface!

I never directed Michael Cohen to break the law. He was a lawyer and he is supposed to know the law. It is called “advice of counsel,” and a lawyer has great liability if a mistake is made. That is why they get paid. Despite that many campaign finance lawyers have strongly......

....stated that I did nothing wrong with respect to campaign finance laws, if they even apply, because this was not campaign finance. Cohen was guilty on many charges unrelated to me, but he plead to two campaign charges which were not criminal and of which he probably was not...

....guilty even on a civil basis. Those charges were just agreed to by him in order to embarrass the president and get a much reduced prison sentence, which he did-including the fact that his family was temporarily let off the hook. As a lawyer, Michael has great liability to me!

Oh dear Donald. Worried that you've now three people testifying that you directed them to break the law?

He just can't help himself. trump's tweets on Michael Cohen seem to be a tacit admission that he misled the American people when he stated for months that he knew nothing about the payments to silence Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal, it was all FAKE NEWS!

That HAS to be someone in the DHS trolling, right?

"DHS is committed to building wall and building wall quickly. We are not replacing short, outdated and ineffective wall with similar wall. Instead, under this President we are building a wall that is 30-feet high."

His family was “temporarily” let off the hook is an interesting statement from the highest elected official in the land, given that prosecutors have given no indication they plan to charge his family after threatening to previously.

I often stated, “One way or the other, Mexico is going to pay for the Wall.” This has never changed. Our new deal with Mexico (and Canada), the USMCA, is so much better than the old, very costly & anti-USA NAFTA deal, that just by the money we save, MEXICO IS PAYING FOR THE WALL!

Ah I'll make up some reason to say they are paying for it. Why then donald did you have a massive strop when told congress wouldn't pay for it?
