Yesterday was reported more collusion, how Putin told trump to coverup the trump tower meeting saying it was about adoptions.

Trump met privately with Putin and immediately seized the meeting notes, then had another private conversation with him at dinner 'for about 15 minutes'

trump told a NY Times reporter later "Actually, it was very interesting,” Trump added, “we talked about adoptions. ... We talked about Russian adoption. Yeah. I always found that interesting. Because, you know, he ended that years ago. And I actually talked about Russian adoption with him, which is interesting because it was a part of the conversation that Don [Jr.] had in that meeting.”

The Washington Post laid out the timelines, which rather makes it look like Putin told trump how to respond about their sanctions and Clinton dirt hacks meeting, which trump dictated on the plane back...

That's a cracking headline. The US press nail it so often with just one line.

No way Trump paid for that out of his own pocket like he claims.

Plus, doesn't he own hotels nearby who could've catered the event? He could even have made a profit on it that way...

Also I expected the farmers at the recent meeting to be furious with Trump after his sanctions have ruined them, but I've not seen any reaction from them.
They fell asleep?

The protestors outside were chanting "Lock Him Up!"

Seriously, how come the farmers didn't give him a hard time? Trump basically used the meeting to grandstand about the wall.

he pandered to them, told lies

In a surprise twist in his message Trump received resounding applause when he vowed to “make it easier” for some immigrants to come into the country to do farm labor. “You need these people,” he added.

As he does in his businesses to do the low paid labour as well.

You've got to remember that he went to a friendly state, where farmers mostly voted for trump

trump told the farmers:“The future of the farmer is bigger, better, bolder and brighter than ever before.”

I think trump meant the russian farmers, as they take over supplying soya beans and meat to China instead of US farmers

French fries served in paper cups with the seal logo hehe
hmmmm cold french fries are the BESTEST BEST!

Don't have issue with it being McD's, Pizza Hut etc unlike some people seem to have but to serve the stuff cold?

He claimed that fast food would be their favourite - they're all young men after all. He claims to have paid out of his own pocket for it and because the kitchen staff are on furlough as federal employees but why not get an outside catering firm in to do the food - still serve pizza, burgers etc - at least it would be hot! oh yeah, cos that would have cost more than going to a fast food joint and ordering en masse.

Some of his supporters are commenting that none of the "lefty complainers" had an issue when Obama served hot dogs and french fries to people - i think the point is that they were cooked onsite and served hot like were supposed to

Utter fking shambles of a man!

Serious question, does the farm bureau only really support the massive farms?

Wisconsin lost 638 dairy farms in 2018, according to the latest data from the state Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. That's a 7.25 percent decline in the number of registered dairy herds — the biggest drop since records started in 2004.
https://www.wpr.org/wisconsin-lost-record-breaking...

Since October 2017 — when there were 2,312 operating, licensed dairy farms in Ohio — 172 farms have quit milking, a decline of 7.4 percent of dairy farms in one year.
https://www.farmanddairy.com/top-stories/dairy-exo...

Iowa, the nation's 10th-largest milk producer with 1,150 dairy farms, has lost about 80 this year.
"We're seeing a significant loss of dairy farms," said Larry Shover, president of the Iowa State Dairy Association board. "They don't see a light at the end of the tunnel."
https://eu.desmoinesregister.com/story/money/agric...

“There were about 650 Grade-A dairy permits this time last year, and now there are only 550,” said Tony Banks, a Virginia Farm Bureau Federation commodity marketing specialist who tracks dairy trends. “Unfortunately, the losses will probably continue well into the second half of the year.”

Yet the farming federation has stood by Trump, even as its delegate body was set to debate Tuesday whether to toughen its policy stance on tariffs as a result of Trump’s trade war.
It took trump 25 minutes of his speech until he started to address the farmers concerns. The farming federation has stood by Trump, even as its delegate body was set to debate Tuesday whether to toughen its policy stance on tariffs as a result of Trump’s trade war.

This is my point. He's totally fked farmers over. I expected them to tear him a new ahole, but it didn't happen.

Did Trump get his standing ovation after telling them to sit down?

I think you will find that like the UK smaller farmers don't own the land so any subisidies are paid to the owner of the land not the farmer.

A couple of good twitter threads here

https://twitter.com/SwiftOnSecurity/status/1074856...

It does make you wonder if the goal is to bankrupt as many small farmers as possible so that larger players can swallow up anything that comes to the market.

Interesting read - cheers. Also interesting to read about the growing season in the midwest, which would probably make it ideal for solar farms?

And the strange coincidence with recent news is that Devin Nunes and family own a huge dairy farm in Iowa, and he campaigned for Steve King

Once upon a time I worked in a Mac Do's.... (!)

If a Big Mac was made but sat on the delivery shoot for more than 20 minutes.... it was binned as inedible.....

How long did those burgers sit around in the Whitehouse?

Disgusting. Double Disgusting. with cheese on disgusting.

What I don't get, is why doesn't anyone stand up to him and tell him he's being the worst ever president and that the whole world thinks he's a fekin clown?
Surely those fine upstanding people that pledge loyalty to their flag can see this, and do the honourable thing?

Does the president still get paid? The military do as does congress etc
I believe he does.

However, I recall that after being elected, Trump said that he would forgo the presidential salary of c. $400,000 as he didn't need it, and would instead donate it to charity and instead take a nominal salary of $1 per year - because he didn't think the country allowed him to work "for free" so to speak.

I don't know if he followed through with this, and if he has, which charity has been benefiting from his generosity?

I would doubt he followed through on it. Track history on his promises about money do not favour it.

And on the off chance he did, whats the betting the charity was called "The Trump Foundation".

trumps annual salary is $400,000. Each quarter he writes a cheque to federal agencies which include the National Park Service, the Department of Education, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Transportation, and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
In October he donated it to the Small Business Association
https://www.cnbc.com/2018/10/03/trump-donates-seco...

It's worth noting the $400,000 is nothing compared to trumps income from his businesses and other sources. He also said he would take no salary after learning that Obama actually donated 78% of his income to charities.

If trump donates all his salary to charity, does this mean he avoids paying taxes on it? I think that's why Obama paid an odd percentage to charity, as the rest was collected in taxes?
