Republicans are about to confirm Barr who just re-enforced that this is a major crime and would prosecute. How can they go on from here without impeachment?

So Trump blocks Pelosi from going to middle east/visit troops
Mitch blocks opening the government
53 republicans block sanctions against Russian oligarchs
Melania flies to Mar-a-lago for the 3rd time during the shutdown

Oh and that little obstruction thing..

Quiet day.

Below that Sanders Twitter of Trump's pathetic and petulant letter to Pelosi is a link to an interesting story about Mueller's military record. Quite a man.

He'd be good presidential material actually.

He's everything Trump isn't.

I suspect not. He still has the Senate in his pocket.

Indeed, but I think there might be a whiff of conflict of interest around the idea smile

Trump dodged the draft 5 times, yet Mueller was rejected for a genuine injury and enlisted as soon as it was healed.

The contrast between these men couldn't be greater.

It's amazing that when compared to Trump some Americans see Mueller as the villain of the piece.

If I had some someone like Mueller gunning for me, I'd be very worried. So should Trump...

On a USAF jet, which Trump would allow Pelosi to use to get to Afghanistan to visit troops

Presidential like a Central African dictator.

Overnight, Facebook removed hundreds of pages posing as independent news sites in eastern Europe and elsewhere.

The pages were actually run by employees at Russian state-owned propaganda arm Sputnik. This is the most most direct evidence that Sputnik (a state-owned Russian media arm that operates as an overt propaganda channel) also engaged in covert methods of spreading propaganda (by concealing its role in the FB pages).

Exactly, this is the crux of all of this for me. How can that be fixed? I can't, I suspect, which is really troubling.

You would think that Mueller epitomises what America should aspire to. The rights and wrongs of Vietnam and proxy wars aside.

He's an impressive individual. Trump is about to meet a man with a Bronze Star, Purple Heart and who brought down John Gotti.

Pretty sure telling someone to lie to Congress would be Conspiracy to Defraud the United States

Sounds dramatic

Without wanting to use the dreaded 'B' word - its the same type of strangeness that lead the British working class, in say once great but currently dying northern towns, to think Jacob Rees Mogg is their hero and is working for them.

Its like a religion at this point and thats a mighty big thing to get over for some people.

You know the bar is low when suborning perjury is being seen as just one more thing to add to the list, rather than as a serious crime. "The allegation that the President of the United States may have suborned perjury before our committee in an effort to curtail the investigation and cover up his business dealings with Russia is among the most serious to date," said House of Representatives intelligence committee Chairman Adam Schiff.
Only 'among'? Wow.

An impressive military record did not help John Kerry, nor Bob Dole, or John McCain.
